2025 Cadillac CT5 Gets Some Of The Blackwing’s Features In China

A few weeks after officially unveiling the high-performance Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in China, SAIC-GM has just launched the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 in the Asian country with some of the Blackwing’s features.

General Motors’ main joint venture in China announced a new update to the facelifted 2025 Cadillac CT5 in the domestic market of that country, where the vehicle is receiving several design and configuration tweaks to increase its appeal among customers. As such, the Chinese-made 2025 CT5 now receives some aesthetic and functional features from the iconic Blackwing variant, based on positive feedback from local customers.

Notably, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 lineup in the Chinese market drops the entry-level Luxury trim level, streamlining it to just two sporty variants that better suit users’ preferences. The 2025 CT5 lineup in China now consists of the “City Sport Edition” and the “Track Performance Edition” as new trim levels for that country, inspired by the Blackwing.

In fact, the 2025 Cadillac CT5’s new range-topping Track Performance Edition adopts four key performance features from the North American CT5-V Blackwing, including the latest Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension, the eLSD limited-slip differential, the Brembo V-Series four-piston brake caliper system and the FNC technology brake discs. In addition, both versions come standard with the Blackwing’s wider body.

Mechanically, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 lineup in China retains the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine that develops 233 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission. This is the only powertrain option available on all CT5s built at the SAIC-GM Cadillac Jinqiao plant, where no V-Series ICEs are built due to engine displacement and emissions restrictions.

The refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 with select Blackwing features is now available to order in China, where it will arrive at dealerships in early March. The sedan debuts the Blackwing-derived Drift Metallic Blue and Typhoon Metallic Green exterior colors, as well as a new Black Label styling kit with aerodynamic moldings, a monochrome Cadillac logo, black mirror caps and black badging.
