The GM Authority Take
Chevrolet sales posted a very healthy increase during Q4 2024, with two-thirds of the Bow Tie brand’s models finishing the quarter in the green.
At 145K deliveries, the Chevy Silverado full-size pickup truck range was brand’s best-seller, while the new Chevy Colorado midsize pickup truck led the brand’s 18 nameplates in terms of sales growth with a healthy 120 percent growth rate. The Colorado was followed by the all-new Chevy Traverse, which grew 60 percent.
Sales of Chevy EVs grew 500 percent to over 28K units during Q4 2024, led by the Equinox EV and Blazer EV with 18,089 and 7,883 deliveries, respectively. The Silverado EV posted 2,176 sales.

Though production of the Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV has been over for a while, the next-generation 2026 Chevy Bolt EV is on the way.
Sales of Chevy utility vehicles, comprised of unibody crossovers and body-on-frame SUVs, fared well during Q4, with every model in the green except the Chevy Blazer. The all-new Chevy Equinox was once again Chevy’s, and GM’s, best-selling utility, outselling the Trax for Q4 2024 and for the year.
The all-new Traverse was next, followed closely by the Chevy Tahoe, then the Chevy Trailblazer, and the Chevy Suburban, with the Blazer close behind. Notably, the Equinox EV outsold these last two ICE-powered models.
The Chevy Corvette was once again in the red during the quarter, while Chevy Malibu sales were quite healthy. Ironically, production of the 2025 Chevy Malibu ended on November 15th at the GM Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kansas, to make way for the next-gen Bolt EV. The Chevy Camaro has been discontinued.
Chevy’s truck lines were a mixed bag again. As we noted earlier, the Chevy Silverado full-size truck range was the sales volume leader for Chevrolet and GM overall (up 1.6 percent), while the midsize Colorado pickup led the Bow Tie brand in volume gains. The Isuzu-made Chevy LCF trucks were down a full 30 percent.
Sales of the dated Chevy Express were in the green. While the Express and its GMC-badged twin, the GMC Savana, were thought to be discontinued after the 2025 model year, GM previously entertained plans to redesign the Chevy Express for the 2027 model year, keeping the ICE powertrain. However, the automaker seems to have canceled these plans, instead electing to simply rebadge the all-electric BrightDrop vans as Chevys.
To date, GM has sold more than three million units of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana.

I have a question—- what is the difference between GM oil 0-20w synthetic oil and the GM oil for the 1/2 ton diesel L6 Dextos D 0-20w. The factory calls for the Dextos D in the L6 diesel and regular 0-20w in the 6.2 liter 1/2 ton gas pickup. Can anyone explain the difference ??
The additives are different. Probably the biggest difference is increased amounts of Zinc and Phosphorous in Diesel oil.
Wow. The Malibu sold over 100,000 units last year (out-selling the Colorado), and GM still wants to cancel it? Sad.
Probably because it’s not a large profit center for them. But all of those people who want a sedan will be forced to buy Japanese, German, or Korean, further reducing GM’s US market share. They never make any sense to me.
In other news, our zone is on average 50% to objective so I have a feeling Q1 25 numbers won’t be so great for GM.
They need to stop producing the Malibu so they can use its resources to keep up with the overwhelming demand of their EV’s.
My 2024 Silverado transmission valve body failed at 12700 miles when I was on vacation 2k miles from home
Dealer said no parts available for 3months and was not interested in helping at all neither was GM customer assistance
No more GM ever for me
Maybe you got a bad dealer. A lemon as well.
You can get that WITH ANY BRAND.
