Cadillac Sales Jump Impressive 35 Percent During Q4 2024

U.S. Cadillac sales increased 35 percent to 49,084 deliveries during the fourth quarter of 2024. Individual model sales performance was as follows:

The GM Authority Take

U.S. Cadillac sales saw a healthy improvement in Q4 2024.

The Cadillac CT4 and CT5 sedans were the only models in the red, though the compact CT5 outsold the subcompact CT4 two-to-one ratio. These model lines include the “regular” CT4, sporty Cadillac CT4-V and ultra high-performance Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, along with “regular” CT5, Cadillac CT5-V and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Notably, Cadillac is now the only GM brand to still offer sedans in the U.S. market.

The rest of the lineup was in the green this quarter, starting with the regular length Cadillac Escalade and extended-length Cadillac Escalade ESV. With 13K deliveries, a 27.5 percent improvement, the full-size SUV family remained the sales volume leader for Cadillac. Having its flagship model also be its best-seller is a unique competitive advantage for the luxury brand. We attribute healthy sales of the nameplate to the refreshed 2025 Escalade, which went on sale in Q4.

The luxury marque’s two mid-tier crossovers – the ICE-powered Cadillac XT5 and all-electric Cadillac Lyriq – followed the Escalade in sales volume. In fact, the archaic XT5 somehow managed to outsell the Lyriq, albeit by roughly 500 units.

The subcompact Cadillac XT4 and three-row Cadillac XT6 crossovers were next, as sales grew 37 percent and 38 percent, respectively. GM has already confirmed plans to discontinue the XT4, and we believe that the XT6 won’t be far behind in being sunset in North America.

Finally, the first-ever Cadillac Escalade IQ (battery-electric) model recorded its first 670 deliveries during the quarter.

Looking ahead, GM’s luxury marque will add three all-electric models, starting with the Cadillac Optiq in Q1 2025. It will be followed by the Cadillac Vistiq three-row and then the Cadillac Escalade IQL – a more spacious variant of the Escalade IQ.

  1. take note that the xt4,5 and 6 sales were way up, possibly because GM has announced they are going drop all 3 soon, some buyer jumped in while they could still get one. GM would be wise to still sell the upgraded xt5 and 6 that is sold in china , built in US, not everyone is ready for full electric but they should leave the old models to keep sales

    1. Agree! Unfortunately, GM claims it does not have capacity to continue producing the XT5 in the current facility due to the need to produce more electric vehicles there. XT4, 5 & 6 are dead to GM/Cadillac unfortunately. My next vehicle purchase will not be electric so I guess it won’t be another Cadillac. Hope my 2012 SRX Performance can hang in there for a loooooong time. Sad…

      1. I understand that, in essence, all GM EVs are the same vehicle just uniquly skinned which creates scale. Nonetheless, GM cannot be earning anything from the Hummers. That could create space for Cadillac XTs

  2. I would not call the CT4 and CT5 subcompact and compact. I would call them compact and midsized, respectively.

  3. The problem with Cadillac Sedans is that Cadillac is selling sedans that aren’t really Cadillacs, they’re just small sedans with Cadillac logos stuck to the hood and trunk. If Cadillac wants to sell sedans they need to build real Cadillac Sedans. The CT6 is a real Cadillac Sedan, it needs to be available in the US. In addition, they need to bring back the CTS. With a good advertising campaign Both the CT6 and CTS would sell very well against the German competition.

    I Don’t know why you’re getting so many downvotes but you speak the truth….kinda.

    I do think the CT4 and CT5 are real Cadillac sedans. They aren’t a rebadge of any Chevy model (like the Escalade is) so I disagree with you there. They’re true Cadillacs. However, Cadillac built their reputation on big, comfortable sedans and neither the CT4 or CT5 hold to that archetypal heritage. In that sense, you are right. They hew more to BMW’s canyon carving linage and are In reality attempts to emulate the German brand rather than being true to Cadillac heritage.

    I have no problem with Cadillac building small sport sedans but I really think it’s a shame that GM no longer sells the quintessential Cadillac in the US. A CT6 with a Blackwing V8 was exactly that. I’d love to see it relaunched here. I believe GM made a fatal mistake by keeping the XTS in production to effectively compete against CT6 but at a lower price. Then the otherwise excellent car was saddled with some inappropriate parts-bin engines and a sub-par interior.

    At the end of its run though, with the Blackwing, it was a magnificent reincarnation of the classic full-size RWD V8 Cadillac sedans. In true GM fashion though, once they had it mostly right, they sold it (CT6 BW V8) for like five minutes then canned it.

    It was a huge tragedy. Folks like me had long hoped for a modern V8 in a RWD Cadillac sedan only to see GM finally build it but then quickly take it away. Sad.

    1. Some fair points. But after a kazillion reviews of the Blackwings “small sedans” anyone to turn their nose up at them for not following Cadillac “tradition” is just too finicky.

      But Cadillac is also making vehicles that ride very much like Cadillacs of the past but better composed (and the CT5-V Blackwing has the best ride quality in its class — very Cadillac tradition-like).

      With the Blackwings, Cadillac didn’t just imitate the Germans — they beat ‘em.

      But with the EVs Cadillac is harkening back to its past and it’s not just with the Celestiq and the Escalade IQ.

      The Lyriq has received praise for its ride quality,, and the Vistiq will be even better looking at the fact that adaptive dampers are standard and moving up to Premium Luxury more sophisticated dampers with AirRide and CDC, not quite the set up with the Escalade IQ, but ride quality should be class leading or close to it.

      The Optiq will be using the Lyriq’s dampers, but with a quicker spring rate.

      And there will be at least one sedan coming, and I expect it will be specc’d something like the Lyriq.
