The ten percent increase in U.S. Buick sales during the fourth quarter is welcome news for the Tri-Shield brand.
Sales of two models – the subcompact Buick Encore GX and the large three-row Buick Enclave – were in the red. We posit that sales of the Encore GX are being cannibalized by the Envista, while the Enclave is in the midst of a generational changeover, which tends to skew volume downward during the first quarter or two of availability.
Meanwhile, sales of the brand’s two remaining models – the Buick Envision and Buick Envista – were in the green as the Envista continues to be a hit, and the Envision remains one of the segment’s best-sellers.
The Tri-Shield brand’s vehicle lineup was totally refreshed in 2024 as part of a design-driven reinvention that began in early 2023. The Envista is a first-ever model, the Encore GX and Envision received mid-cycle refreshes, and the Enclave received an overhaul.
