The Chevy Traverse was just fully redesigned for the 2024 model year, but its model range is already getting some changes for 2025. One such change to the 2025 Chevy Traverse is that the power panoramic sunroof (RPO CAJ) is no longer a standard feature in the Traverse RS. It’s now a standalone $1,500 option. The change gives the Traverse RS a slight reduction in its starting price.
Previously, the RS was the only trim of the Traverse with a standard panoramic sunroof. As before, the power sunroof is available on the LT trim level as part of the $2,500 Sun and Wheel Package (BAQ) and as a $1,500 option on the Z71 and High Country.
Here’s an updated pricing breakdown of the 2025 Chevy Traverse lineup. These figures include the $1,395 destination charge.
Trim Level | Drivetrain | 2025 MSRP + DFC |
---|---|---|
LT | FWD | $41,995 |
LT | AWD | $43,995 |
Z71 | AWD | $48,995 |
High Country | FWD | $54,995 |
High Country | AWD | $56,995 |
RS | FWD | $55,295 |
RS | AWD | $57,295 |
Speaking of which, the High Country trim has returned to the Chevy Traverse lineup after a one-year hiatus. In following the Y-shaped trim structure sweeping the GM product portfolio, the Traverse High Country is the more luxury-oriented trim level compared to the similarly priced and similarly equipped Traverse RS, which has a sportier aesthetic. The differences are primarily aesthetic. Now that the panoramic sunroof is standard on neither the High Country nor the RS, the two trims are even more similar than we initially thought they would be.
The LT is the new base trim with Chevy dropping the Traverse LS, and the Z71 gets a couple of updates for 2025. For starters, it’s no longer available with Premium Cloth seats. For 2025, every Traverse Z71 has Evotex faux leather seats with the Jet Black with Torch Red accents (HQC) interior color. Another change to the Traverse Z71 this year is the addition of the Adventure Package (PCM), which bundles molded assist steps (VQO), roof cross rails (VLL), 18-inch gloss black wheels (EU2), and black exterior trim pieces.
Under the hood, the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, provides motivation. The GM C1-2 platform underpins the Traverse, with the GM Lansing Delta plant in Michigan as the site of production.

Start building some and they’ll sell.
Almost impossible to locate in my area unless you want the base model.
Decontent first, then drop the price. How about just dropping the price?
The decontenting and restricting of options needs to stop. Used to be able to get power passenger seat in LT trim. Now, power passenger seat is High Country only, which is complete BS. High Country forces a bunch a features I do not want, like 22″ idiot rims, and all the Super Cruise hardware, which all by themselves, combined, is like $7000 of crap, which pushes the MSRP into Tahoe pricing.
If I wanted to pay Tahoe pricing for a vehicle, I’d buy a Tahoe. I don’t know what GM is doing. My 2019 Colorado has a power passenger seat. My 2023 LT Traverse has a power passenger seat. At some point I am going to want a new vehicle with power passenger seats. I cannot buy a new Colorado. Power passenger seat is not available on ANY trim. And as I have already said, I’m not buying a High Country Traverse to get a power passenger seat. So what am I going to do GM? Switch brands? If I am forced to switch, why should I choose GM?
I will not buy one until the 310 hp V6 or better yet the 688 hp supercharged 6.2 liter V8 are an options…!!!
I purposely had to order my Cadillac without a stupid moon roof sun roof. They are nothing but leaks waiting to happen. And always right after the warranty expired. Not only that, I don’t need my bald head getting sunburn.
As it should be. A murdered out black everything model is in no way a top tier trim only in gM’s land of backwards!
Also waiting for GM to step on the gas and put a V6 option in the Traverse or Acadia. Time to get back to the better engines even if you get a few less miles per gallon. With Drill Baby Drill!
60K for a midsized SUV with a noisy 4 banger.
