Some 2025 Buick Enclave Units Require A Brake Master Cylinder Replacement

As detailed in a new service bulletin from General Motors, some units of the 2025 Buick Enclave full-size crossover are subject to a condition that will require the brake master cylinder to be entirely replaced.

According to service update bulletin N242482170, the available remedy is offered through the end of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period for 2025 Buick Enclave units that have the problem, which consists of a missing internal cartridge seal in the eBoost module of the brake master cylinder.

The fix consists of removing the current, defective brake master cylinder and replacing it with a new one containing the correct internal cartridge seal. This should be applied to all 2025 Buick Enclave crossovers brought to the dealership for any reason by the owner. Enclaves in dealer inventory should also be inspected and promptly repaired if involved.

As a reminder, the 2025 Buick Enclave rolls out the third generation of the Tri-Shield brand’s three-row crossover. The vehicle features fresh styling inspired by the Buick Wildcat EV concept, including an updated grille, front and rear fasciae, and LED lighting signatures. The interior features a 30-inch infotainment display in an overhauled cockpit, along with an array of safety tech that includes Blind Zone Steering Assist, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Departure Warning.

The turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine provides motivation to all trim levels of the 2025 Enclave, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. The GM eight-speed automatic transmission is paired with the four-cylinder engine to send power to the pavement, while front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations are offered.

Pricing for the Enclave starts at $46,395 MSRP for the Preferred trim with FWD or $48,395 when equipped with AWD. At the high end, the Avenir starts at $59,395 and $61,395 respectively with these drivetrain configurations. These prices include a $1,395 destination freight charge.

Beneath the sheet metal, the 2025 Enclave continues to be underpinned by the GM C1 platform. The GM Lansing Township plant in Michigan is the crossover’s site of production.

  4. This doesn’t make any sense. The article is poorly written or researched. It sounds like a safety issue, so why isn’t it a recall? Why only replaced on all vehicles returning to the dealer for any reason? What are the symptoms?

  5. If it is missing a seal, that means it is going to leak!!!! WE just took delivery yesterday. I will be calling the dealer tomorrow .

  6. How will the mechanic know if the replacement master cylinder isn’t also missing the seal? The supplier or GM may say it’s good to go, but the supplier also said to GM they will ship quality parts that met all design specifications, and they plainly didn’t. Should the mechanic disassemble the new unit just to confirm it has all the required parts before they install it?
