Man Unloads Tractor From Burning GMC Sierra: Video

A dramatic video posted to social media captures the moment a man successfully unloads a tractor from the back of a trailer after the GMC Sierra pulling the trailer bursts into flames.

The video was apparently captured in Floyd, Virginia last October. Luckily, no one was reportedly injured in the blaze.

A GMC Sierra catches fire on the side of the road.

The video opens with what appears to be footage captured from a security camera at a gas station. We see a GMC Sierra roll into frame, stopping on the shoulder. The pickup has peeling paint and looks a bit worn. Behind the GMC Sierra is a trailer with a red tractor on it.

As soon as the GMC Sierra pulls into frame, we see a fire burning in the bed of the pickup. While it’s probably not the smartest idea to stop next to a gas station with a burning truck, the driver may not have had any other choice in the matter.

As the driver gets out of the cabin, we see him pouring the contents of what appears to be a water bottle on the fire in the bed. Unfortunately, this has no effect, and the flames start to grow higher and higher. In response, the driver begins to pull things out of the bed.

Moments later, we see the truck completely engulfed in flames. The GMC Sierra owner looks on, unsure what to do next. As the driver watches, we see a massive fireball shoot up from the rear of the truck, possibly a result of the fuel lines melting or a gas canister left in the bed.

We then see the driver do something quite brave. He walks up to the tractor, which is still on the trailer behind the burning pickup truck, and unstraps it. He then gets into the tractor and backs it off the trailer. We see bits of the burning truck on the trailer bed.

It’s unclear how the fire started, but it seems highly likely that the man saved the tractor by offloading it from the trailer. Luckily, the video says no one was hurt in the incident.

  1. Actually not a bad save IMO. Gas station and tractor were upwind, and he got back until that tank of whatever BLEVEd.

Only mistake was thinking he could stop it with a bottle of water.

  2. Probably had cut a hole in the bed to get to the fuel pump, ended up getting a fire started from some other cause like damaged wiring or corrosion and then the fire burned through the tank… at least it was an old truck, hate when new trucks and equipment burn.

  3. He could have been hauling some ammonium nitrate fertilizer, that and some spilled gasoline or diesel can make for a hell of a fire.

  4. Lucky there wasn’t a giant lithium battery under there l
