Kasey Kahne will once again take control of a NASCAR Chevy racer, returning to the North American stock car racing circuit for a one-off Xfinity Series race in partnership with Richard Childress Racing (RCR).
Kahne is slated to drive the No. 33 NASCAR Chevy, which will be sponsored by HendrickCars.com, at Rockingham Speedway on April 19th, 2025. The race will be his first NASCAR national series start since 2018. Prior to his start at Rockingham, Kasey Kahne will participate in a test at the speedway on January 28th.
As a reminder, Kahne competed in the Cup Series until ongoing health issues forced him to hang up his helmet before the 2018 season was through. Throughout his 15-year career, Kahne earned 18 Cup race wins, 93 top-five finishes, and 176 top-10 results. He won the Coca Cola 600 three times and the Brickyard 400 once. He also has one victory at Rockingham, having won the Truck Series race at the track in 2012.
“I’m excited to get back behind the wheel of a stock car, especially at a place like Rockingham Speedway,” Kasey Kahne said in a press release. “Rockingham has been a special track throughout my career. I remember winning the Truck Series race in 2012 when the sport went back there last, so to be a part of the current return is cool. Very appreciative of the opportunity that Mr. (Rick) Hendrick, Richard (Childress), and everyone at RCR have given me, along with the support of HendrickCars.com, Chevrolet, Curb Records, and Karavan Trailers. I look forward to hitting the track next week for the test.”

Childress, owner and CEO of RCR, said, “Kasey is a great driver and a fierce competitor. Our Xfinity Series program is top notch, and we look forward to watching Kasey race with (fellow Xfinity Series drivers) Austin (Hill) and Jesse (Love) for an exciting return to Rockingham Speedway. With Kasey behind the wheel, we expect the No. 33 to have a shot at winning the race.”

Must be close to bankruptcy.
Kahne, RCR, or GM?
I wish him the best. I always thought of Kasey Kahne was a class act.
One of the good guys.
Not a self-centered whiner.
