Hummer H3 Slides On Ice, Trades Paint With Ford Pickups: Video

It doesn’t matter if you have two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, or ten-wheel drive – if your tires can’t stick to the surface at hand, then vehicle control will be non-existent. It’s an important lesson to learn, especially now as temperatures are low and roads are slick. Unfortunately for the driver behind the wheel of this Hummer H3, it’s a lesson that had to be learned the hard way.

A Hummer H3 in an icy parking lot.

In a recent post to social media, we see a slick, ice-covered parking lot in front of a few small shops. The parking lot is banked, and at the bottom of the hill, we see a pair of Ford pickup trucks that look as though they already fell victim to the conditions.

As the video progresses, we hear the individual capturing the video providing a little narration.

“Watch the white Hummer,” the narrator says. “White Hummer’s got street tires, he’s going to go up in there and try to stop and end up sliding down.”

Sure enough, that’s exactly what happens. As the Hummer H3 stops in front of a smoke shop, the white SUV starts to slide down the icy embankment, heading straight for the pair of Ford pickup trucks.

The slide is agonizingly slow, but seemingly unstoppable, at least from the driver’s seat of the Hummer H3. As the white SUV gets close to the Fords, we see the Hummer driver attempt to open their door, which is a really bad idea – in a situation like this, the last thing you want to do is to get out, as doing so could lead to getting trapped between your vehicle and another vehicle, or falling underneath the out-of-control Hummer.

Eventually, we see the Hummer H3 hit the Ford pickups. It’s unclear how much damage results from the collision.

Hopefully, no other drivers got caught out by the ice in that particular parking lot. The best solution would be studded tires, but a dedicated winter tire would likely have helped as well. Or maybe just warning other drivers before they hit the ice.
