Honda 0 Saloon And 0 SUV EV Prototypes Unveiled At 2025 CES

Honda hit the ground running at CES 2025 with the debut of two all-electric prototypes, including the Honda 0 SUV and Honda 0 Saloon. Together, the pair form the initial offerings in the new Honda 0 Series electric vehicle (EV) lineup, with an expected launch in 2026. Production will take place at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio. Honda’s first mass-produced North-American BEV model is the Prologue crossover, which is based on GM Ultium technology and on sale now.

The first Honda 0 Series model out the door will be the 0 Series SUV. The prototype unveiled at CES included a number of interesting tech-forward items, such as steer-by-wire, as well as a flexible interior focused on functionality and leisure.

Meanwhile, the flagship Honda 0 Saloon looks to blend striking styling with luxurious comfort, showing off a wedge-shaped design paired with a spacious cabin.

The new 0 Series models are intended for North America and global markets. Central to the 0 Series is the ASIMO Operating System (OS), named after Honda’s humanoid robot. This in-house software integrates key systems like automated driving, infotainment, and vehicle controls, as well as over-the-air updates for a customizable, evolving user experience. Further announcements include a Home Energy Management System, which features optimized EV charging schedules and integration with renewable energy systems, as well as the ability to sell surplus energy back to the grid, lowering costs and reducing overall environmental impact.

Further highlights include Level 3 automated driving technology, enabling “eyes-off” driving in certain conditions.

The Japanese automaker’s first BEV sold in North America, the Honda Prologue, is based on the GM BEV3 platform and is produced at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. Notably, the Honda Prologue outsold every GM EV in 2024, with 33,017 units sold during the year. By comparison, the Chevy Equinox EV trails with regard to raw sales volume, posting 28,874 units sold during the same time period. GM and Honda were originally set to co-develop new, more affordable EV models, but those plans have since been called off.
