Here’s When 2026 GMC Terrain Production Is Scheduled To Start

General Motors pulled the sheets on the all-new third-generation 2025 GMC Terrain last August, and with it, a variety of big changes for the crossover. Highlights include new exterior styling, an overhauled cabin design, and several new tech features. The subsequent 2026 GMC Terrain brings a few small updates compared to the preceding 2025 model year, including a new exterior paint option. Now, GM Authority has learned when 2026 GMC Terrain production is scheduled to begin.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the start of regular production for the 2026 GMC Terrain will begin on March 17th, 2025, while dealers will begin processing orders on January 30th. To note, these dates are tentative and may change in the future.

Pricing for the third-generation Terrain currently starts at $31,395 for models equipped with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel-drive models start at $33,395. Both MSRP figures include a destination freight charge of $1,395.

As GM Authority covered previously, the 2026 GMC Terrain introduces a new exterior paint option called Glacier White Tricoat (paint code G4J). Glacier White Tricoat serves as a replacement for White Frost Tricoat (paint code G1W), the latter of which was optional between the 2020 and 2024 model years for SLT and Denali trims. Meanwhile, Glacier White Tricoat will be an exclusive option for the Denali trim. It’s currently unclear how much Glacier White Tricoat will cost.

The 2026 GMC Terrain will also offer Downpour Metallic (paint code GXP), which returns to the Terrain paint options list for the 2026 model year after it was excluded from the 2025 model year. Downpour Metallic was initially offered for the Terrain in conjunction with the 2024 model year.

As a reminder, the third-generation GMC Terrain cradles the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, which is rated at 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque under the hood of front-wheel drive models, and 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque under the hood of all-wheel drive models. The Terrain rides on the GM D2 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico.

WOW!!! It’s really exciting to see white replaced by white! And you still get to pay for white too!

  4. The 2025’s started being available in my area about a month ago. In a couple of months when the 2026’s hit the lots, those who bought a 2025 will have a vehicle that’s a model year old.
Two or three years from now this will mean your trade will be a year older.
    GM has lost it!
I hope there’s a 50% tariff on the Equinox and the Terrain. GM deserves all they get!
