Here’s When 2026 GMC Sierra EV Production Is Scheduled To Start

The GMC Sierra EV debuted in October of 2022, offering up an all-electric alternative for the brand’s popular pickup nameplate. Following an initial launch for the 2024 model year, the all-electric Sierra lineup expanded for 2025 with the introduction of new trims, additional battery options, and a few other changes. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the upcoming 2026 GMC Sierra EV is set to begin.

The 2026 GMC Sierra EV will roll off the line in May.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 GMC Sierra EV is scheduled for May 19th, 2025. Additionally, dealer order submissions for the 2026 GMC Sierra EV will open on April 10th, 2025. However, as is the case for all production schedules, these dates are tentative and subject to change.

While the 2024 GMC Sierra EV was limited to the high-end Denali Edition 1, the 2025 model year marked a broader rollout for the electric truck. The 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali now offers multiple battery options, while, two new trims – the entry-level Elevation and AT4 – are expected to debut this year, further expanding the appeal of the Sierra EV with greater affordability and off-roader attitude.

As for the battery options, the 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali offers two configurations:

Extended Range Variant

  • 390-mile range
  • 645 horsepower / 785 pound-feet torque
  • 10,500-pound towing capacity
  • 1,350-pound maximum payload

Max Range Variant

  • 460-mile range
  • 760 horsepower / 785 pound-feet torque
  • 10,000-pound towing capacity
  • 1,500-pound maximum payload

In both models, GM Drive motors and battery packs provide the motivation, with either a 20-module (RPO code ETI) or 24-module (RPO code ETN) battery configuration providing the juice. Both model variants are available exclusively in a Crew Cab / Short Bed body configuration, and are equipped with the GMC MultiPro MidGate.

To note, the 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali Extended Range starts at $91,995, while the Denali Max Range is priced at $100,495. Both prices include a $2,095 destination freight charge, which is $100 higher than the previous 2024 model year.

      1. So record profit sharing, strong increases in revenue, EBIT as well as cash flow and you want her gone? Must be tough being sexist these days…

  2. Why are they bothering? My local dealer has one and it just sits. They’re tiring of looking at it.

  3. I have to say that is a fine looking truck, but I’ve always thought GM trucks were cool. The range of 390 or 460 miles is quite impressive. Heck, if I could afford one, I’d buy it over the Silverado EV or F150 lightening.
