Here’s When 2026 Chevy Equinox Production Is Scheduled To Start

General Motors launched the all-new fourth-generation Chevy Equinox for the 2025 model year, debuting a long list of updates and changes, from new exterior styling, to a new cabin, to the new Activ trim level, and more. Meanwhile, the subsequent 2026 Chevy Equinox brings a few small changes compared to the preceding 2025 model year, including a new exterior paint option. Now, GM Authority has learned when 2026 Chevy Equinox production is scheduled to begin.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the start of regular production for the 2026 Chevy Equinox is scheduled to kick off on March 17th, 2025. Dealers will begin processing orders on January 30th. It should also be noted at these dates are tentative and are subject to change.

As GM Authority covered previously, the 2026 Chevy Equinox introduces a new exterior paint option dubbed Polar White (paint code G4J). Polar White will replace replace Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (paint code G1W), the latter of which was initially added to the Equinox paint options list for 2016.

The 2026 Chevy Equinox will no longer be available in Iridescent Pearl Tricoat.

As was the case for Iridescent Pearl and the 2025 Chevy Equinox, Polar White will only be available on Activ and RS trim levels, and will not be available on the base LT trim. The LT will only be available in Summit White (paint code GAZ). Polar White will also include an extra cost, which has yet to be announced. To note, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat paint is a $995 option for the 2025 model year.

Additionally, the 2025-model-year Equinox RS is offered with a Mosaic Black (RPO code GB8) two-tone roof, an option that’s available with several paint options, including Iridescent Pearl Tricoat. With that in mind, it’s likely that the 2026 Chevy Equinox will also offer Polar White with a Mosaic Black roof.

As a reminder, the fourth-generation Chevy Equinox cradles the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, while under the skin, you’ll find the GM D2 platform. Vehicle production takes place at the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico.

  5. I would like to see interior color choices on RS and Active, a little more power, a hybrid option and a High Country or Premier trim like we had before! Also there should be a convenience package with cloth and an 8-way power seat and power tailgate for under 900 bucks for those that don’t want to spend 2200 dollars on vinyl seats
