GMC Sierra Offers One More Interior Dash Design Than Chevy Silverado

While the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado share a good deal of mechanical DNA, these two pickup trucks offer different options with regard to interior aesthetics and design. Most notably, the GMC Sierra offers three distinct dashboard designs, compared to only two offered by the Chevy Silverado. Now, GM Authority is serving up a breakdown of the three Sierra dash designs, highlighting some of the unique elements at play.

Sierra base dashboard

Base Dashboard (GMC Sierra Pro)

The first GMC Sierra dash design is exclusive to the entry-level Pro trim, and emphasizes simplicity and functionality. Highlights include a seven-inch diagonal color touchscreen and a 3.5-inch diagonal Driver Information Center in the instrument cluster. This basic design provides straightforward control layouts and minimal frills, with a focus on utility that’s ideal for buyers who intend to use their pickup exclusively for work purposes.

Sierra premium dashboard

Premium Dashboard (GMC Sierra SLE, Elevation, and SLT)

Next, we have the premium dashboard, available for SLE, Elevation, and SLT trims. This design elevates the interior experience significantly, and incorporates a 13.4-inch GMC Premium Infotainment System with Google built-in, as well as a 12.3-inch diagonal Driver Information Center.

The refined center stack design strikes a balance between technology and practicality, making it a popular choice for buyers who want more tech without stepping into full luxury territory.

Sierra luxury dashboard

Luxury Dashboard (GMC Sierra AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate)

Finally, we have the luxury dashboard, which represents the pinnacle of GMC Sierra interior design thanks to top-tier features that distinguish it from the other configurations. While equipped with the same 13.4-inch GMC Premium Infotainment System and 12.3-inch Driver Information Center as the premium dash, the luxury dash also incorporates additional design flourishes and premium touches, such as premium stitching on top of the dash, additional vents, and a center stack that flows into the center console. This latter feature also means that the luxury dash cannot be combined with a bench seat layout, while the base and premium dash can.

By contrast, the Chevy Silverado offers only two dashboard designs. The base design can be found in the WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss trims, resembling the Sierra’s base dash with a utilitarian layout. The premium dashboard, offered on higher trims like the LT, RST, and High Country, is comparable to the Sierra’s premium dash. Meanwhile, the Chevy Silverado lineup doesn’t offer the luxury design available for the GMC Sierra AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate.

  1. Would like GMC to offer as a dash option round gauges with needle pointers VS the linear bar graph set they have now …really don’t like those

    1. I completely agree with you about the rear amber turn signals and round gauges with needle pointers, as opposed to the current set up. I am not a fan of their current dash design.

  2. Would also want GMC to put Amber Turn Lamps back on the Tail Lamps like they had in 1999….they are important…they are dedicated and just plain look nice…I bought a 2024 Sierra SLT but I wish it had the 1999 tail lamps on it

  3. Isn’t it great that GMC offers an extra Luxury level dashboard in the 1500 Denali. But if you want the 6.2 V8 and the Max towing package you have to buy the lowly Chevrolet High Country with no Luxury dashboard.
So much for the Professional Grade GMC trucks.

  4. I have a 2023 GMC 1500 Denali with the luxury dash and a 2024 GMC Sierra SLT with the premium dash. I prefer the premium dash as the infotainment screen is higher, I often accidentally hit the interior button for the tailgate in the luxury interior when attempting to put or get something from the storage cubby. Unfortunately, you cannot get heads up display on an SLT. You can on LTZ. I think GM did dome weird interior option limitations.

  5. Have the luxury dashboard, 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, along with Denali Package option.
