Drifting U-Haul Chevy Silverado Crashes Into Dodge Challenger: Video

A viral video has surfaced showing a chaotic illegal street takeover involving a U-Haul Chevy Silverado pickup truck, a Dodge Challenger, and a Ford Mustang. All three vehicles are damaged in the incident. In addition, the Chevy Silverado and Dodge Challenger are both allegedly stolen.

The video captures the U-Haul-branded Chevy Silverado performing donuts in a sideshow, its rear tires spinning furiously with smoke billowing out from around the bed. A passenger in the cab dangerously hangs out the window as onlookers record the spectacle.

A Dodge Challenger collides with a Chevy Silverado.

Suddenly, we see the pickup truck brake heavily mere moments before a Dodge Challenger drifts past at high speed. The two vehicles still collide, with the Silverado hitting the front end of the Challenger as the latter slides by at high speed. The Challenger, still in motion, swerves erratically, shedding pieces of its front fascia, including what appear to be pieces of the bumper.

The Challenger’s uncontrolled slide results in another collision, this time with a Ford Mustang parked nearby. As the individual holding the camera runs up to the two vehicles, we see that the Mustang’s airbags are deployed, although it’s unclear if the airbags popped from the force of the impact with the Challenger or another incident. The cabin is empty, and it’s possible that the Mustang was stolen as well.

The video shows a good amount of damage from the incident. The Dodge Challenger is missing its front bumper and fascia, with a fender bent outward, and although damage to the Chevy Silverado remains unclear in the footage, it’s obvious that the folks behind the wheel aren’t terribly concerned with keeping the pickup in one piece.

For those readers who may be unaware, a sideshow, also known as a street takeover, is an illegal gathering of people and vehicles on public roads, intersections, or parking lots, with participants performing a range of dangerous and reckless stunts, from burnouts, to donuts, to drifting. It’s not uncommon for participants to use stolen vehicles, nor is it uncommon for vehicles to be heavily damaged. Some videos show takeover vehicles deliberately lit on fire or trampled.

  6. I’m glad they got into the accident, it’ll teach those idiots a lesson when it comes to driving around with vehicles that didn’t belong to them to begin with. No disrespect to the owners who became victims of their vehicles being stolen.
