Chip Foose Customized Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible To Be Auctioned For Veterans Charity

A unique example of a 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 convertible is headed to auction for a good cause. It’s a ZL1 customized by Chip Foose, and the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Gery Sinise Foundation, which “serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities.”

This Camaro has one-off exterior graphics designed by Chip Foose. Special badging on the front fenders shows the logo for the Gary Sinise Foundation and a stylized American flag with three “thin line” colors: blue representing police, red representing firefighters, and green representing the military. Those three lines are also applied along the bottom sides of the car, while over-the-top American flag motif stripes adorn the hood and trunk lid. This ZL1 also has custom one-off 20-inch Foose wheels in a gold color with a five-spoke design, possibly as a nod to “Gold Star” military families.

This Chevy Camaro headed to auction also has an exposed weave carbon fiber front air dam, hood insert, mirror housings, rear spoiler, and diffuser. The interior trim also has exposed carbon fiber, along with red accents in the seats, door cards, and center stack. It’s modified with a Peddars Extreme VA Coilover kit, which tastefully lowers the car.

The Tennessee license plate in the photo gallery reads “LT DAN” as an homage to Gary Sinise’s beloved role in Forest Gump.

It appears to be unmodified under the hood, not that a stock 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 needs any help going fast. Power comes from a supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4, generating 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. This one is equipped with the desirable 6-speed manual transmission.

Sunbelt Rentals, an equipment rental provider and longtime sponsor of the Gary Sinise Foundation, is donating the car. It will be offered with no reserve at the Mecum Kissimmee 2025 auction on January 18th.
