The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Chile sales wrapped up the 2024 calendar year with a healthy increase in December, returning to growth after experiencing a notable double-digit contraction in November. The performance stabilizes the Bow Tie brand’s performance in the Chilean market, though it doesn’t prevent it from continuing to lose competitiveness and market share by dropping from third to fourth among the country’s best-selling automobile brands during the month.

In contrast to November 2024, Chevrolet Chile sales during December was led by the best-selling Chevy Groove, which ended the year in the green after several consecutive months in the red. The entry-level crossover added almost 60 units on a year-over-year basis, obtaining one of the highest volume figures of 2024 and consolidating itself as the brand’s most popular model in the Chilean market.

In addition to strong sales of the Chevy Sail and the brand’s commercial truck lineup in December, the Chevy Colorado was another bright spot, posting a substantial four-digit increase. The midsize pickup was Chevrolet’s fastest-growing model and its entire segment during the month, when it was Chevy’s third most popular nameplate thanks to the recent arrival of the updated model.
