GM has issued special coverage for a range of different Cadillac sedans and crossovers, including the Cadillac CT4, Cadillac CT5, Cadillac XT4, XT5, and XT6 related to a problem with the evaporative emissions purge pump.
According to bulletin N242484740, the involved vehicles are all from the 2022 and 2023 model years of the five different sedan and crossover nameplates.
The specific problem is an issue in which certain Cadillac vehicle units will have the emissions purge pump fail. This will not immediately affect vehicle performance, but it will cause a “check engine” light to appear on the dash and a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicating the problem to set.
GM offers a fix of the issue free of charge to owners of affected Cadillac crossovers and sedans, regardless of current ownership. The fix consists of entirely replacing the evaporative emissions purge pump with a new component, which will resolve all problems caused by the issue.
The special coverage extends coverage of free repair for this problem only to 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. The coverage does not apply to any other issue, including issues with the purge pump unrelated to this specific failure.
The fix is offered free of charge from January 15th, 2025 onward. Those owners who already had the pump replaced on or before January 14th, 2025 will likely be eligible for a reimbursement of whatever they paid to have the pump replacement carried out at an authorized GM dealer.
The Cadillac CT4 and CT5 ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform and are produced at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. The Cadillac XT4 rides on the GM E2 platform and production will end this month at the GM Fairfax plant in Kansas. Meanwhile, the XT5 and XT6 ride on the GM C1 platform and are built at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

Yup my 2023 had it replaced at 7,000 . So what’s the story on this, design flaw or defective parts . Either way quality control is lacking at gm.
All manufacturers, not just them.

I’ve had the PCV solenoid fail twice on my CT5. Each time, the made in China lettering is on the top of the part. Here’s your issue right there, Cadillac…
