Cadillac Racing Team Expands With New Appointments

Cadillac Racing is gearing up for the 2025 racing season and beyond with a series of new appointments to its leadership class, adding a technical director and a propulsion manager to its prototype racing team among other changes to its personnel.

Xavier Marcos Padros is joining the luxury marque’s motorsports arm, taking up post as Cadillac Racing’s technical director. He’ll support its engineering, performance, and development processes, bringing his extensive experience in Formula One to the table as Cadillac surges toward its own F1 team in 2026. Padros, who has been working in F1 as a race engineer since 2018, most recently worked with Scuderia Ferrari as part of Charles Leclerc’s team. He also has prior experience with HRT and Williams, where he served as performance engineer, along with serving as race engineer for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2015 through 2017.

Keely Bosn is joining Cadillac Racing, tapped as the organization’s program manager, taking Laura Wontrop Klauser’s place as the head of the luxury marque’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) endeavors.

Sean O’Shea was also appointed to Cadillac Racing, where he will offer his expertise as propulsion manager for the team. He’ll focus on the development and performance of the luxury marque’s 5.5L DOHC V8 engine along with its electric motor component. O’Shea has worked with General Motors since 2015, and has assisted in The General’s military contracts along with advanced propulsion systems. His most recent experience with GM saw him performing duties as engineering manager for the Chevy Blazer EV PPV, which is the first electric vehicle rated for pursuit applications.

“Motorsports remains a key platform for General Motors to hone engineering and leadership skills in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment and make the company stronger,” said Cadillac Racing in a press release. “To further support its IMSA and WEC programs, GM Motorsports is rolling out a new Cadillac Racing leadership structure. The moves reflect the level of resources and investment that GM is making in its global motorsports initiatives.”

In addition to the aforementioned personnel, GM recently announced the formation of a company entirely dedicated to the development of its F1 powertrains.
