The 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 drops in as the seventh model year for the full-size pickup’s fourth generation, and, as expected, customers once again have a long list of trims to choose from. Critically, each trim incorporates a specific grille design, with styles ranging from rugged utility to premium sophistication, thus ensuring a distinctive appearance for each model. Now, we’re comparing all of the 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 grille designs.
There are a total of four grille designs for the 2025 Sierra 1500 available across various finishes.
Starting from the bottom and working our way up, we have the Pro trim, which features a simple yet eye-catching design with a chrome header paired with flat black grille insert bars. Upgrading to the Pro Graphite Edition adds in a body-color header that retains the flat black grille insert bars, providing a subtle but distinctive upgrade.
For reference, the Graphite Edition package (RPO code WBP) also includes various other goodies, including but not limited to body-color bumpers, body-color upper grille, recovery hooks (for 2WD models), and six-spoke 20-inch wheels.
Moving up the range, the SLE introduces a chrome header complemented by medium silver grille insert bars, while the Elevation trim, aimed to deliver a more youthful aesthetic, is distinguished by its body-color header and gloss black mesh grille insert bars, giving it a sleek and contemporary look. Note that the Elevation’s grille design is very similar to that of the Pro and Pro Graphite Edition, albeit with a glossy finish.
The SLT enhances the truck’s premium appeal with a chrome header and chrome grille insert bars, accented with gloss black details, while the off-road-oriented AT4 trim features the same grille but finished in black chrome and a gloss black header and accents, delivering a more sinister aesthetic.
The AT4X and its specialized AEV Edition variant take off-road capability and styling a bit further, incorporating a gloss black header and Dark Nickel grille insert bars, accented with gloss black. Both of these models feature AEV’s high-clearance front bumper with a unique set of fog lights, which results in the elimination of the front air curtains present on all other Sierra 1500 trims.
On the luxury end of the lineup, the Denali trim showcases GMC’s luxury-oriented design language with a chrome header and the iconic Signature Chrome Denali grille. Finally, the Denali Ultimate elevates the Denali’s premium aesthetic with a high-gloss black header and the Signature Denali grille finished in Vader Chrome. The lower fascia of the Denali is chrome with chrome tow hooks, while that of the Denali Ultimate features still features chrome tow hooks but less chrome.

The GM T1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.
Comments
Prefer the grille header in body color.
Grille looks like it got a shot of “Botox”.
The gloss black header, especially on the Denali Ultimate, looks out of place with the Vader chrome. I think GM switched the header to black because the Vader chrome finish has proven to be incredibly delicate, and it chips and scratches easily.
I read in the GM Authority a few days back … that for 2026 GMC 1500 the 3.0L was not an engine option. Why?
Bill – where did you read that? To my knowledge, we haven’t reported anything about the 2026 Sierra…
Keep ” just the grill” black..!!!!!!! The grill looks to big in any other rendition!!!!
This progression to ever larger, non functional, grilles has run its course. It’s like a face that’s all mouth. Time for a better front end with the next gen.
Hope the “Transformers” look will end soon….
I prefer one that allows me to see the road closer than 60 feet in front of the grille. You know, for things like dogs and kids. But keep making the hood so tall that opening it reveals an extra 18 cubic feet of storage space. It’s not “THE truck”. It’s THE most obvious symbol of insecurity and trying to mask tiny equipment, and a rolling tank with a slit for a.windshield.
