2026 Chevy Trailblazer Gets These Two New Paint Colors

Although the 2025 calendar year just started, we’re already getting glimpses of the 2026 model year for the Chevy lineup. GM Authority has learned that the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer will get two new paint options: White Sands (G42) and Apex Red (GAS).

White Sands is indirectly replacing Nitro Yellow Metallic (GHS), and Apex Red is replacing Crimson Metallic (GFM). White Sands (pictured above) is a subtle beige color in contrast to the more vibrant Nitro Yellow that’s discontinued for 2026.

Meanwhile, it won’t be very noticeable on the showroom floor that one hue of red was swapped for another in the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer color palette. GAS (Apex Red) is the same GM paint code as Buick’s Brilliant Red, and it’s quite similar to the Trailblazer’s outgoing Crimson Metallic option. Since Crimson Metallic is going away, Apex Red is the new paint for the red contrast roof option for the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer RS.

As we reported in December, buyers have until the week of February 24th, 2025 to order a 2025 Chevy Trailblazer in one of the two soon-to-be-discontinued paint options. Nitro Yellow Metallic is a $395 option for the RS and Active trims. It can be paired with a Mosaic Black Metallic roof on the RS trim or a Summit White roof on the Activ trim. Meanwhile, Crimson Metallic is a no-cost option available on the LS, LT, and RS trims.

Another paint option shakeup in the Chevy lineup for 2026 is the new Polar White (G4J) option for the 2026 Chevy Equinox, replacing Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (G1W). Like the introduction of Apex Red to the Trailblazer’s options list, the new white paint option is notable but will largely go unnoticed by the average Chevy crossover shopper.

Two available powerplants motivate the 2026 Trailblazer: the aforementioned turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP flex-fuel engine developing 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque and the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine rated at 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. Drivetrains include front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive across the whole trim level range.

The 2026 Chevy Trailblazer is underpinned by the GM VSS-F platform under the body panels. Production takes place at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

  2. They should have kept the two they dropped and simply added the two new ones.

  4. I like the nitro yellow. It’s ashamed they dropped that color. I guess they know what they are doing.

  5. We own a ’21 RS with the coolest color, Oasis Blue. My wife constantly gets compliments on it. The Nitro Yellow never thrilled me much…

  6. The yellow is a “good riddance” from me. Such a sour lemon color, it is a color I’d get sick of in a hurry. For yellows, I am partial to less offensive hues, like Butternut, a popular color on GM vehicles in the 1960’s.

  7. No love lost for Nitro Yellow. The bigger news that isn’t mentioned is the loss of a spare tire on the ’26s as standard (but available as a stand-alone option), which is simply disgusting.
