2025 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition: First Look

The 2025 GMC Canyon drops in as the third model year of the third-generation pickup, debuting several updates and changes along the way. These include more standard features, updated package content, and new styling options. Among the new options on offer is the new Nightfall Edition, which adds a few choice upgrades to the GMC Canyon AT4, specifically. Now, we’re taking our first look at the new 2025 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition.

The 2025 GMC Canyon with the Nightfall Edition package.

Priced at $4,595, the new Nightfall Edition package matches aesthetic and functional upgrades that cater to off-road enthusiasts seeking a standout look without sacrificing capability in the dirt.

The Nightfall Edition package is tagged with RPO code XNF and is priced at $4,595. The package is only available for the AT4 trim level. Additionally, the Nightfall Edition package cannot be combined with the AT4X Package (RPO code XEW), or the AT4X AEV Edition package (RPO code XEV).

Nightfall Edition package content includes (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Rocker Panel Protector (S6L)
  • 275/60R20SL all-terrain tires (QAE)
  • 20-inch Machine faced aluminum wheels with Dark Pockets (RHO)
  • Bed-mounted sport bar (SBY)
  • Black Badges (RIK)

The Nightfall Edition does well to enhance the look of the AT4 trim, with the 20-inch Black High Gloss emphasizing the truck’s rugged character, while complementing other package add-ons like the Rocker Panel Protector kit. The sport bar also integrates nicely with the design, enhancing the truck’s silhouette while adding functionality. Finally, the 275/60R20SL all-terrain tires keep the rig capable while adventuring.

This particular 2025 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition is finished in Desert Sun (paint code GBF), an eye-grabbing hue that offsets the black badging and wheels. This shade joins Glacier Metallic (paint code GAE) and Rapids Metallic (paint code GAL) as three new color options for 2025.

Under the hood, the 2025 GMC Canyon cradles the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax engine, which provides 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The third-gen canyon rides on the updated GMT 31XX platform, while production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

  2. I love everything about that but the engine.

    1. Just thinking: it would be great if this GMC model was offered with a 3.0 Liter Diesel.

    2. Yeah, that’s the deal killer for me. Son has the 2.8 Duramax, gets 30mpg in it’s sleep. Want a 4 cyl then they should have kept the previous Isuzu generation around. $50k for a force fed gas 4 banger that’ll be dead before it’s paid off.

  3. So, with this package (money well spent, for sure) the total MSRP should only be about $85k. I can totally see why Mary continues to believe a Maverick competitor is beneath her.

    1. The Maverick is a cheap disposable flower shop delivery car….It should be beneath any person that needs a truck

    2. 85k for a mid sized pickup with one engine choice… and 60k for a full sized pickup with 4 engine choices. Sucker’s are born every day.

      1. I just don’t get this $85k price rage you’re talking about…what am I missing? The Canyon AT4 starts just over $45k, and the pricing for the Nightfall Edition is under $5k. Last I checked my math, that’s is NOWHERE CLOSE TO $85k.

  4. Great, strong and prestigious, but in Jordan, the taxes are high. The price of a car… I mean, I dream of buying it… I don’t have money or work… knowing that I was previously born in Kuwait and I always buy only American cars, comfortable, strong and psychologically comfortable.

  5. Give me a non turbo option and I’ll be interested.
