2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 No Longer Available To Order In This Color

The Iridescent Pearl Tricoat paint (color code G1W) is no longer available to order on the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup, GM Authority has learned, with the color option no longer offered for the truck from this time forward.

The final units of the 2025 Chevy Silverado ordered with the Iridescent Pearl exterior color will be built out after the week of February 24th, 2025 according to current information.

Up until now, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat was offered as an extra-charge option for the LTZ and High Country trim levels only. Priced at an additional $995, it was not offered on the WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss or ZR2 trim levels of the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500. Its unavailability leaves eight of the truck’s original nine exterior colors on offer.

It’s unclear at this point if the Iridescent Pearl Tricoat color will return for the 2026 model year, but it appears to be highly unlikely that it will do so. Polar White (color code G4J), another tricoat color, is replacing Iridescent Pearl on the 2026 Chevy Equinox. We expect the same to be true for the 2026 Chevy Silverado.

Notably, the 2026 Silverado is expected to be the final model year of the current fourth generation. Sources have informed GM Authority that the fifth generation will debut with the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado and that the next-gen GMC Sierra truck will launch in the same model year. You can check out more of our exclusive details on the coming changes, too.

For now, the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 is motivated by one of four engines, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax engine rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine developing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine offering 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax developing 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

The pickup is configured with either 2WD or 4WD, the GM eight-speed automatic paired with the L3B engine and the GM 10-speed automatic transmission mated to the other three powerplants.

The 2025 Silverado 1500 is underpinned by the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

  1. If this is true it means that there are only three colors available on the 2025 Silverado High Country (Black, Radiant Red & Sterling Silver), which is absolutely ridiculous.

I wonder if this also pertains to the GMC Denali’s version of Iridescent Pearl, White Frost? While the Denali is (was?) available in 6 colors, if White Frost disappears that will leave 3 variations of gray, a blue (that’s sort of a blue) and black. So much for having it your way, no one’s ever going to confuse GM with Burger King.

  5. I’d guess this is due to the upcoming Polar White release. Same thing happened when they switched from White Diamond to Iridescent Pearl
