The third-generation Chevy Colorado enters its third model year for 2025, debuting a surprising number of important updates along the way. Among the most notable is the deletion of the base-level turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R engine, new standard features, and a pricing increase. New units are rolling out now, with thousands of examples of the 2025 Chevy Colorado pickup either on dealer lots or in transit. However, no new units of the 2025 Chevy Colorado LT have shipped as of yet.
As of this writing, approximately 7,238 units of the 2025 Chevy Colorado are either in transit or on U.S. dealer lots. Among these are examples of the WT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 trim levels – but no LT models.
As such, it would appear as though production of the LT trim has been further delayed. The LT’s absence is somewhat unexpected, especially after GM reversed course on its initial plan to drop the trim altogether. As GM Authority covered previously the LT was originally set to be replaced by an LT option package for the base WT trim, mirroring what GM did with the GMC Canyon AT4X trim. However, the LT was later confirmed to remain a standalone trim, complete with the planned LT Appearance and Convenience Package (RPO code XTD) as standard equipment.
Compounding the LT trim’s absence is the delayed launch of the official 2025 Chevy Colorado configurator tool. Originally scheduled to go live on November 27th, 2024, the launch date was later pushed to December 16th, 2024. Now, however, the configurator still remains unavailable, leaving potential customers in the dark.
As for changes implemented for the latest model year, the 2025 Chevy Colorado deletes the base-level turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine, with the Turbo High-Output 2.7L I4 L3B engine now serving as the sole powertrain option. Under the skin, the 2025 Colorado rides on GM’s updated 31XX-2 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

Hope the 2025 Colorado wireless charging works as the 2023 and 2024 are affected by Bulletin No.: PIT6098B established in December of 2023;
2025 “LT” Colorado delays…
Hope they are adding some COLOR Choices to the Interiors.
VERY TIRED of ONLY BLACK. 🙁
I agree. For the Pricce of these damn trucks they should have 2 or 3 interior color choices and MORE exterior Colors.
I hope they are adding some better wheels like bright silver or chrome with bright silver, instead of all black or some color that don’t highlight the Colorado LT. Also add the chrome cross bar back to grill under the head lights, everyone don’t like all black and gray trims on their Colorado, it make it look cheap. Go back to gray for cloth or leather for your primary seat colors. Also have some better flexible packages when customers are ordering a vehicle instead of making them buy options they don’t want. You will sell more vehicles that way.
I was looking at an Equinox at my local dealer and I listened to a conversation in the booth next to me on a couple that were looking at Colorado’s. There were talking to the salesman about interior colors and wheels ironically and were complaining at the lack of color choices and the drab wheel options. If Ford can offer 2 interior color choices on its Ranger along with several better wheel options then so can Chevy. Note the Ranger has a nice silver alloy wheel on the std trim as apposed to Colorado’s steelies and the mid tier offers both a grey and chrome wheel. The Lariat trim offers several wheel options too but Chevy doesn’t even offer a luxury trim which they should!
YES they are building 2025 LT models just saw one on the Northeast Inventory List.
They began shipping these over a week ago! I have two in transit right now
