GM refreshed the Cadillac CT5 lineup in conjunction with the 2025 model year, unveiling a wealth of updates. Among these are a revamped cabin, new technology features, as well as a redesigned front fascia. Initially, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V was shown with a front grille design similar to that of the CT5-V Blackwing. However, with deliveries of the new CT5-V now under way, customers have quickly noticed a discrepancy – the CT5-V actually shares its grille design with the CT5 Sport, and not the Blackwing.
When it was first unveiled, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V was shown with an all-black grille design and black surround, just like the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. This color combo was repeated in vehicle images available via the 2025 CT5-V configurator tool at Cadillac’s website. However, actual production units of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V are showing something slightly different, with the black grille incorporating a chrome lower surround, rather than the fully blacked-out surround of the CT5-V Blackwing. The upper portion of the grille surround remains black.
At present, this design discrepancy is not reflected in imagery available at the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V configurator on Cadillac’s website. Nevertheless, a Cadillac spokesperson has confirmed with GM Authority that the imagery on the official website will soon be updated to reflect the actual production design.
Naturally, customers have a few options when it comes to customizing the styling of their new 2025 Cadillac CT5-V, so check out our previous coverage for more information.

That’s disappointing. Looks better all black on the V shown in the render.
To make it worse, the pre-refresh CT5-V had no chrome on the grille.
If you want a CT5-V with chrome, just get the Premium Luxury 550T.
The pre-refresh V grille combo looks perfect. I just don’t understand the change. Cost cutting? Customers ordered their cars expecting black and were left wondering if there was a production error. They showed off this car in typhoon with an all black grille for months… big fail…
I was hoping that the chrome was a light bar .. similar to the refreshed Escalade but I guess not
That would have looked good and tied into the brand’s current design language very well.
Think more people would seeing the back of the car instead of the front..
Changing it to black will be the "update" for 2026.
I WAS HOPING YOU CAN HELP, I ORDERED MY CT5 BCK IN EARLY NOVEMBER AND AS OF TODAY I STILL DO NOT HAVE A PRODUCTION DATE, DEALER SAYS ITS DO TO A SOME KIND OF SOFTWARE UP DATE. WHAT GIVES???
Be patient on your order. It’s GM. Besides why buy the sedan when you can get the SUV????
