2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Officially Unveiled In China

One year after the global debut of Cadillac’s midsize performance sedan in Detroit, General Motors has just officially unveiled the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in China.

The automaker’s main joint venture in China, SAIC-GM, announced the unveiling of the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing for the first time in the Asian country during a special event this week – almost one year to the day since the model’s official reveal in the United States. The 2025 CT5-V Blackwing represents the American luxury brand’s most powerful and prestigious performance sedan.

Notably, Cadillac’s team in China teased the impending unveiling of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in the country by posting a teaser video of the model on the brand’s social media platforms for the local market. The short clip, just five seconds long, shows the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing’s steering wheel V button and digital instrument cluster graphics changing, with the Mandarin phrase corresponding to “Blackwing returns to China.”

The official unveiling of the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in China marks the second time SAIC-GM has shown the high-performance version of Cadillac’s midsize sedan in the country, after previously introducing the brand’s Blackwing sedans locally in mid-2022. Like last time, the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing’s debut serves for marketing purposes to elevate the brand’s image and does not preempt the model’s introduction in the country.

As such, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing’s Chinese-market campaign will include a series of on-track demonstrations and test drives to highlight the high-performance sedan’s outstanding dynamic attributes. The CT5-V Blackwing is equipped with the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine that generates 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, which can be mated to either the 6-speed manual transmission or GM’s 10-speed automatic.

The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is being officially unveiled in China for purely promotional purposes, and the brand has no concrete plans to market the model in that country so far. In fact, since it began operations in the Asian country, Cadillac has not manufactured or marketed any of the V-Series vehicles in the Chinese market. This is the case with the internal combustion range, and it remains to be seen whether this will change in the EV era of the high-performance series.

    1. Trump loves the China made items, remember his Trump clothes line sold at Macy’s, to his gold shoes, his bibles… all made in China. His actions are way stronger than whatever he says.
