What To Expect From Cadillac In 2025

Although Cadillac is pumping the brakes on plans to fully electrify its lineup by 2030, the company is still set to offer a diverse range of battery-powered products. Now, with 2025 looming, the luxury marque has a few important updates up its sleeves, including several new EV launches, as well as potential updates to existing models. As such, we’re rounding up what to expect from the luxury automaker in the upcoming calendar year.

2026 Vistiq Launch

Following a debut last month, the first new units of the 2026 Vistiq are set to arrive in dealerships in early 2025. The all-electric luxury SUV will be available in four distinct trim levels, including Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, and Platinum. Highlights include a dual-motor powertrain producing 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, with a 102 kWh battery onboard for the juice. Lyriq-V

2026 Lyriq-V Launch

After dropping cover this past October, the 2026 Lyriq-V is slated to launch during the 2025 calendar year, dropping in as the first production EV to wear a V-Series badge. This performance-oriented crossover will feature enhancements such as more aggressive styling, a few new interior pieces, a lower ride height, and increased power output. Notably, the Lyriq-V is also expected to launch in select global markets.

2026 Escalade IQL

The Cadillac Escalade lineup will expand with the introduction of the 2026 Escalade IQL, debuting sometime during the 2025 calendar year. Offered as the long-wheelbase variant of the Escalade IQ, the IQL will essentially serve the same purpose as the Escalade ESV, offering more space inside the cabin, all while cradling the Escalade IQ’s all-electric powertrain.

Potential Cadillac CT4 Refresh

While not officially confirmed, rumors suggest a refresh for the Cadillac CT4 sedan is in the works for 2025, potentially launching for the 2026 model year. However, this remains purely speculative, at least for now.  For reference, the current-generation CT4 launched for the 2020 model year.

    2. No thank you…I totally Respect having the Choice, but I also appreciate having a Voice, in What I buy and drive. My Chouce for our next full size GM SUV, will be either a Tahoe Denali 6.2, or a pampered Escalade 6.2, which will include a GM long term Warranty, that will allow it to be a long term, member of our family, always dealer maintained.
      We prefer a darker exterior color, with a light interior color…with 4WD, due to where we live.

  2. I’m just hoping the CT4 refresh is real and substantive. Without that or a true update to the XT5, I just don’t see me owning another Cadillac.

  4. Looks like Cadillac will be making its most objectively competitive vehicles yet. Its still a small portion of GMs portfolio, so it makes sense to start off with very luxurious options until production cost decrease. I think the traditional Cadillac ICE buyers would be fine with the new ICE Buicks coming (unless they’re just looking for the Cadillac badge).

    1. I disagree Doug, I’ve owned 20 new Cadillacs over the past 45 years and I’m not about to buy a Buick. Cadillac’s “China First” Strategy seems to be leaving me and other loyal Cadillac customers for dead. When the leases are up on my 2023 CT5 and my 2024 XT6, I may have no choice but to switch brands. I don’t want an electric car. If GM chooses to not offer products that traditional Cadillac customers want, it doesn’t deserve our business.

      1. Well said, and I totally agree! I miss my 1976 Eldorado Convertible, and all the other wonderful Caddies I’ve owned! I’m gonna buy a CT5 – V Blackwing six speed while they are still available.

      3. I can see how you would feel that way, although I don’t see how it’s a China First strategy. The Chinese side seems to run independently to the US side, but yes, they are abandoning their traditional customers. They are replacing the traditional customers with a younger, less fiscally responsible, demographic. If any traditional buyers migrate to EVs, they probably view that simply as the cherry on top.

        Why be “loyal” to a car brand? True loyalty is a two-way street and the only one feeling a need to be loyal is you. Cadillac doesn’t care about you. They’re always looking for new buyers and for younger buyers. At one time Cadillac prized owner loyalty and tried to keep customers coming back year after year. Then their average buyer age got too high and that all went out the proverbial window. Look at their advertising; they’re not looking for someone at the country club on their tenth Caddy anymore, as was the focus of their advertising in the 1980s. They’re seeking conquest buyers from a whole different population segment than their long ago owners. They believe with EVs they can attract new folks like Tesla’s more youthful clientele. So that’s the path they’ve taken. The fact that their long-time customers don’t want an EV and feel left behind is of no concern. I would argue it should be but clearly it isn’t. They’re ostensibly building a big sedan again with Celestiq but it’s not aimed at seasoned Cadillac buyers who once loved their big sedans. Instead the plan is to sell it to young nou·veau riche entertainers and athletes at $350,000 and up.

        Complaining about the situation here won’t change things. Instead, have an open mind and take a look around. There are many carmakers. You might find out you’ve been missing out on a product that better matches your desires and needs simply because you want to be able to say you’ve driven nothing but Cadillacs for 35 years.

        1. Sadly, well written and you are correct. We have a 2018 XT5 and my wife loves it. Just turned 100k and I have bought nothing but GM my whole life. I have 6 Gm trucks on the road plus a Corvette and I actually like the Lyriq but my wife won’t drive electric even though it’s perfect for her commute. I don’t know what we’ll get next.

      5. Frank, in order a business to survive, it is the business’ responsibility to bring in new buyers by doing something or have something unique. It is like that in every business including sports and entertainment.

        Do research and look at Cadillac’s past sales volume and notice they trend downward from the peak volume of the ’70s and so forth. It is out there but you have to search for it.

  5. Enough with the EVS!! The whole supposedly “green” concept is a fraud, as are solar and wind energy. The technology is just not there to warrant the full scale mad rush into these alternatives. Very few people want electric vehicles; in fact, if it were not for the outageous government subsidies and tax benefits, almost NO ONE would buy them!! Wake up, Cadillac!

  7. Maybe they can bring us a 3rd generation ICE CT6 that is designed and focused on the market in the US! Mary should be waking up of she is so far into the WOKE culture that is all she can see. Maybe it’s a wake up call for GM and Cadillac to let her collect her golden parachute and bring in a REAL car person.

    The CT4 and CT5 are too small for any real sized person and the back seats cannot fit a teenager let alone an adult.

  11. What I expect is them to frick’in deliver my Optiq that they built at the beginning of November and have been sitting on instead of letting me drive it.

    1. They’re probably just waiting to deliver that whole set of cars so the sales numbers don’t “look bad” for the tail end of the year versus starting stronger (or being isolated) to the new year. Sad that marketing takes priority over satisfying customers.
