Capping off a stellar season for Chevy, Will Brown, driver of the No. 87 Supercars Chevy Camaro, took the driver’s championship in the 2024 Australian Supercars season after a tough fight against his own teammate, Broc Feeney, and Ford racer Chaz Mostert. However, Brown is putting his differences with Mostert aside next year, and the pair will share the seat of a Ferrari endurance car at the 2025 Bathurst 12 Hour.
According to a report from Supercars.com, Brown and Mostert will share a Ferrari in the endurance race alongside factory driver Daniel Serra. Brown beat his teammate Feeney and Mostert after the Ford driver was mathematically eliminated with only a few rounds left. While Brown won the points championship, Mostert was credited with third place. The two competed as rivals in the GT World Challenge Australia this season, although the tables were turned and Mostert and his codriver, Liam Talbot, captured the title.
Brown, Mostert, and Serra will share a Ferrari 296 GT3 fielded by Arise Racing GT in the Pro class for the forthcoming race on Mount Panorama. Ironically, Mostert was racing Arise machinery when he beat Brown in the GT World Challenge, but the Supercars Chevy driver says he’s excited to be a part of the winning team.
“I am really excited to join Arise racing GT at the Bathurst 12 hour. After Chaz and Liam beat me in the championship this year, I thought, ‘If you can’t beat them then you need to join them,” Brown said. “I have watched Arise throughout the year and have noticed how professional and committed they are to winning which is something that excited me. I can’t wait to get the mountain and have a crack in the Ferrari.”
Jordan Oon, Arise Racing GT Team Principal, said he’s looking forward to the partnership, saying, “It would be fair to say that in Will Brown and Chaz Mostert we have two of the best drivers in Australia right now. They raced each other hard in both GT World Challenge and Supercars this year and both are driving better than ever.”
He added, “It’s hugely exciting to pair them together for our first attempt at the Bathurst 12 Hour and have a factory Ferrari pilot in the form of Daniel Serra join them. It’s the strongest possible combination we could put together.”
The Bathurst 12 Hour is scheduled for January 31st through February 2nd, 2025.
