General Motors has just officially introduced the refreshed 2025 Cadillac XT4 in Japan.
The automaker introduced the refreshed 2025 Cadillac XT4 in Japan as the luxury brand’s final launch of the calendar year in the Asian country, introducing the new evolution of Cadillac’s global design language for the first time in that nation. As such, the refreshed 2025 XT4 is the first of the models to adopt the brand’s next-generation styling and technological features in the Japanese market.
“The Cadillac XT4’s elegant proportions and dynamic driving style have earned it widespread support both in Japan and abroad,” said Cadillac Japan in a statement. “The all-new 2025 XT4 utilizes Cadillac’s latest design language for the exterior and interior, offering unique styling and advanced technology that cement it as a strategic model for the brand in the globally popular compact SUV segment,” the brand added.
Specifically, the refreshed 2025 Cadillac XT4 is being introduced to the Japanese domestic market exclusively in the Sport trim level and a single top-of-the-line configuration. This means that all units of the model for that country will have a blacked-out overall finish that includes gloss black exterior moldings, a sport mesh grille, 20-inch diamond-cut aluminum wheels, and all available tech equipment as standard.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 carries over the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine that develops 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated to GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the 2025 XT4 also comes standard with the automaker’s Intelligent Dual-Clutch AWD system.
The refreshed 2025 Cadillac XT4 is now available for sale at Cadillac’s official dealer network in Japan, where both the luxury brand and GM have a limited presence in a niche category without offering any of their vehicles in right-hand drive. The 2025 XT5 debuts the next-generation 33-inch 9K curved display in the country, and carries the full suite of advanced driver assists. Here’s the model’s price in Japan:
- 2025 XT4 Sport: 7,900,000 yen (about $53,150 USD at the current exchange rate)

It’s a nonsense thing… GM will be discontinued this car in near future. Japanese market is rough market for foreign maker, and focused on RHD car. Why they sell this car in Japan, Even if they know this risk? If GM does not plan to decide alternative place for XT4 production, It’s a meaningless work!
Yes. I agree. What is the point of selling this when they are getting rid of it..
Why?
This is a tired old design. More than a refresh is needed as well as a real Cadillac engine with more HP.
Don’t worry. Ms Mary B and her decisions will rob customers of this car….
