A recently posted viral video shows a driver in a Pontiac Grand Prix run from law enforcement before crashing into a semi-trailer truck, resulting in the Pontiac Grand Prix splitting in half. Miraculously, the driver in the Pontiac survived the incident. The driver apparently had an active warrant out for her arrest.
The incident occurred on September 7th, 2022, around 7:00 p.m. local time in Arkansas. According to a police report, the red Pontiac Grand Prix was spotted on Interstate 55 moving around traffic on the right shoulder, traveling at roughly 50 mph.
After conducting a traffic stop, the male driver admitted that he didn’t have a driver’s license. A female passenger was seated next to the driver. The trooper reports that he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the car. The driver explained that he was trying to take his female passenger to the hospital.
When asked, both the driver and passenger denied having anything illegal in the car or on their persons. Another officer arrived to assist, and the officers began searching the vehicle. The female passenger then reportedly started to act nervous, mentioning that there might be a gun in the vehicle. Moments later, she unexpectedly climbed back into the car, put it in drive, and sped away.
That’s where the video comes in. We see the female passenger jump into the driver’s seat and drive off as the officer yells at her to stop.
According to the report, law enforcement pursued the Pontiac as it traveled at speeds exceeding 100 mph on the shoulder of the highway. The chase ended when the car collided with a semi, splitting the Pontiac in half. Incredibly, the female driver survived the crash and was conscious and responsive when law enforcement showed up, and was later taken to the hospital. Law enforcement then found an ID that identified the suspect, with police indicating that she had an active warrant for her arrest in Illinois. During a search of the wrecked vehicle, law enforcement also discovered a .22 revolver on the rear passenger floorboard.

Wrong. She died. She was seriously injured when the car split in half and the rest of the video shows the cop talking to her as she’s dying. Do some better reporting.

That’s not a semi-trailer truck she hit. It’s a box truck. The author needs to brush up on his terminology.
