With the discontinuation of the sixth-generation Camaro, you might think that any example of the sixth-gen Chevy Camaro ZL1 is worth saving. However, one example has recently appeared online that may challenge that assumption. Stripped down to a bare shell, this once high-performance marvel is now little more than a shadow of its former glory. Which leads us to ask – how much would you pay for this 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 (or at least what’s left of it)?
The exterior of the shell retains the bold Rapid Blue paint of the ZL1, but little else remains intact. The body has been extensively stripped, with no doors, hood, trunk lid, or bumpers in sight. Nearly all of the windows have been removed, leaving only the metal framework exposed to the elements. Even the iconic Camaro roofline, though still present, is missing its structural and aesthetic components. The engine bay is completely gutted, showing only remnants of what used to house a supercharged powerhouse.
Inside, the interior is similarly barren. The dash, while technically still there, is missing critical components, including the steering wheel, center console, and any semblance of the Camaro’s factory-equipped tech. The floors are bare, with visible wiring and metal surfaces indicating the absence of carpeting, seats, and trim. Even the basic structure of the interior seems to have been left exposed, giving it an unfinished and rugged look.
From the factory, the 2023 Camaro ZL1 was a beast, powered by the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine delivering an impressive 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. The ZL1 was also equipped with performance-enhancing features like Magnetic Ride Control, an electronic limited-slip differential, and 20-inch wheels. The ZL1 could also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, making it one of the most potent Camaros ever produced.
The sixth-generation Camaro, which debuted in 2016, saw its production end with the close of the 2024 model year. Chevrolet’s decision to once again discontinue the Camaro has left fans nostalgic for this iconic muscle car, especially rare trims like the ZL1. As one of the final years for this generation, this 2023 Camaro ZL1 may still hold a special place in the hearts of enthusiasts, even in its current state.
That said, how much would you pay for this stripped-down Camaro shell? Is it even worth something in its current state? Let us know in the comments below!

Zip. Zilch. Nada. Crush it.
Nothing but scrap price.
Nothing!
I’d pay more than you think if I needed the VIN for a stolen one.
Absolutely nothing, that said…it’ll cost more to pick it up than the little sheet metal left. Are you just giving it away? Actually you’d have to pay someone to recycle it. If today was April 1st, then I’d get the joke!
Reminds me of a couple abandoned vehicles I saw parked on the side of the Cross Bronx expressway back in the early 80’s.
Is the title Clean ?
While the oem would have been purchased for an assumed $100K+. The lineage from 1966 to 2023: but: built 2022! I’d auction it off to the highest bidder! But: since the 2nd gen Camaro is my favorite. Despite it’s [Left to rust condition]; since this official starting point: If i had the $$: I’d take it as-is & rebuild it to a condition better and more powerful than than what Rouch or Hennessy!
It is junk from new anyway so zero go get a C8
The body has been cut in two, surprised no one had mentioned that yet. It’s a total write off and should not be resurrected. Rest in pieces . . . sorry, my humor for the day.
Sorry to be critical, but how is this even an article? As JohnnyB mentions, the car is literally cut in half. You couldn’t even reasonably use this as a base for a dedicated drag car.
This would be a great find for someone wanting to rebuild a wrecked Camaro. At the right price, of course.
Pay me and i will pick it up
How many miles are on it? I may consider it if it’s low.
You would have to pay me for this. I’ll take it off your hands for a nominal monthly fee.
Plus, notice how the VIN plate was cut out which makes it even more worthless. Perhaps currently occupying a stolen ZL1? Hopefully not. I’m jaded. Anyway, I took the click bait on this one. Hopefully that helped put at least some sort of bread on the table. Nice photos though. Several minutes I’ll never get back.
