The title of “greatest sports car of all time” is bound to lead to some rather heated debate among car enthusiasts, especially GM Authority readers. However, according to the team at Hennessey Performance, the Chevy Camaro ZL1 Exorcist is a worthy contender for the crown. To back this bold claim, Hennessey has released a new three-and-a-half-minute video showcasing the Exorcist in its natural element.
Built to take on the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, the Exorcist elevates the already potent Chevy Camaro ZL1 to stratospheric performance levels. Hennessey’s modifications include a high-flow supercharger, high-flow intake, upgraded fueling system, custom camshaft, ported heads, new injectors, and an enhanced valve train. Together, these upgrades transform the factory 6.2L LT4 V8 engine, pushing it from 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque to a staggering 1,000 horsepower and 966 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to send the Exorcist from 0 to 60 mph in an eye-watering 2.1 seconds and through the quarter-mile in just 9.57 seconds. Keep your foot in it, and this pumped-up Camaro can hit 217 mph.
Indeed, these figures already solidify the Exorcist’s place among the world’s most powerful street-legal sports cars. And with the recent discontinuation of the sixth-generation Camaro, the Camaro ZL1 Exorcist has become even more exclusive. Recognizing this, Hennessey recently unveiled the Exorcist Final Edition, a tribute to this iconic build.
Of course, whether or not all of that’s enough to take the title of GOAT remains a matter of opinion. Nevertheless, Hennessey makes a compelling case in the new video, showcasing the Exorcist as it roars around the tuner’s test track, offering a symphony of engine growls and liquified tires that could convince some of the more skeptical readers out there.

Depends on how they define “sports cars”.
Correct. A sports car is usually described as a 2 seater vehicle. The Camaro is a pony car. Journalism is a dying art.
I’ll take the Zora, thank you!
Put it on Road America or the Nurburgring and see how it stacks up against the competition.
Yep.
As a 4 time Camaro owner and road racer, my question would be, is this just a street warrior or can it perform as well on the track?
I’d love to see what Hennessy could do with a Mustang GTD.
I’m a retired guy who owns a 2022 ZL1 and I really like my car “big time”. This video was really fun to watch and I hope the Exorcist stays around for years.
As a three car Camaro owner, this title should be changed to a 2+2 sports coupe challenge. I’ve driven the new Corvette and don’t see the comparison no matter how much power they throw at this F-body platform.
