The GM Authority Take

After suffering a slight setback in October, GM Mexico sales quickly returned to growth with a notable nine percent increase during November. That translates to a volume increase of over 1,500 units on a year-over-year basis, reinforcing GM’s position as the second best-selling automaker in Mexico.

GM Mexico’s healthy increase during November was driven by an increase in sales of 18 models, including the best-selling Chevy Aveo – which saw a double-digit increase that consolidates it as the company’s most popular model in the Latin American country. The subcompact car further improved its monthly performance in Mexico and surpassed the 6,000-unit barrier, representing almost all of 1,500 units gained by the company during the month.

Additionally, the entire Chevrolet pickup line, including the Chevy Colorado, Chevy Montana, Chevy S10 Max and Chevy Silverado, were in the green, while the GMC Canyon saw a spectacular four-digit increase – the highest growth rate for The General. It’s also worth highlighting the solid performance of the Chevy Trax (up 76 percent) and Buick Envista (up 289 percent), along with large increases in the all-new Chevy Traverse (up 56 percent) and GMC Acadia (up 220 percent). At the same time, the all-new Chevy Blazer EV registered its first eight sales in Mexico.
