It’s getting cold out there, folks, and for some of us, that means slippery driving conditions. A Chevy Traverse driver in Omaha, Nebraska, had her own unexpected winter surprise after her driveway turned into a skating rink, causing her crossover to slide sideways in slow motion. The incident was caught on a home security camera, and fortunately, no damage was done.
The video begins with a white Chevy Traverse pulling into a driveway that looks a little wet. At first glance, the surface just appears to be damp, however, as the driver attempts to climb the slick surface, the front wheels lose traction and the vehicle begins to drift sideways. The driver’s alarmed reaction is audible in the clip as she cries out in response to the sliding front end.
“I’m going to crash!” she yells.
Despite a few desperate turns of the steering wheel, the Traverse refuses to follow her commands. Instead, the crossover begins a slow, agonizing slide toward an adjacent pickup truck parked in the driveway. The suspense builds as the front end of the Traverse inches closer and closer before gently bumping the rear of the truck. The impact is minor, causing the Traverse to wiggle a bit before sliding back into the street.
The video’s description sums it all up nicely.
“Well, winter finally showed up for us in Omaha… stay inside people,” the description reads. “Leslie driving her Chevy Traverse Dec 2024 trying to park in her driveway after an ice storm. No damage to either vehicle! Just a little bump from the tires.”
With a sigh of relief, the video concludes as the Traverse driver carefully maneuvers her vehicle back up the driveway from the other side, successfully parking opposite of the truck.
No harm, no foul. Get some good winter tires and stay safe out there, folks:

“Winter tires” don’t help on ice unless you have steel studs.
No damage? It hit the Ford. I guess some people don’t give a s**t about a “little scratch”.
Yeah, ice is scarier than snow any day.
Yes, but the very worst I’ve experienced is a thin covering of snow on the ice.
Doesn’t it snow in Nebraska?, or is this person just clueless. Thank God I live in Buffalo, N.Y.
People here know how to drive when there’s snow and icy conditions, and more importantly when not to drive.
Good thing her sorry ass family had treated driveway with ice melt ….
BS there was no damage.
Did you see the part where it hit the Ford?
And perhaps if she had known to get off the brakes, she wouldn’t be in the predicament she got herself into.
