The GM Authority Take

In just its second quarter on sale, the new Chevy Equinox EV jumped into the lead with nearly 10K deliveries during Q3 2024. Nissan did well too, with combined sales of its all-electric Ariya crossover and Leaf hatchback totaling 10,066 deliveries to beat out the Bow Tie brand’s single entry.

The Equinox EV and its larger sibling, the Chevy Blazer EV, which moved 9,772 units in Q3 2024, combined for 17,770 sales, though the two compete in different segments.

About Chevrolet Equinox EV

The first-ever 2024 Chevy Equinox EV debuted this past September. The new all-electric crossover rides on the GM BEV3 platform, featuring as standard a single Ultium Drive electric motor powering the front wheels. This is rated at 213 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. An optional AWD system is also available, rated at 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque.

Launch trim levels for the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV include 2LT and 3LT, along with the sporty 2RS and 3RS, plus a 2RS Launch Edition, which is currently sold out. There will be no 2024 Equinox EV 1LT trim level.

The Equinox comes standard with manual-adjusted front seats, an 11-inch diagonal infotainment screen, an 11-inch driver information display, and 19-inch wheels. The upgraded infotainment screen measures in at an impressive 17.7 inches and is available on the 2LT and standard on the 3LT and two RS trims. Cosmetic options include available 20- and 21-inch wheels, a front LED light bar for 2LT and up models, a two-tone white roof for LT models, and a two-tone black roof for RS models.

The Chevy Safety Assist suite of active safety features comes standard across the board.

Notably, GM’s semi-autonomous Super Cruise driver assist system is available on most trim levels of the all-new 2024 Equinox EV, yet the all-new model does not offer the option of a wireless phone charger on any trim.

GM confirmed the driving range for the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV AWD, which will offer an EPA-estimated 285 miles of range per charge, while the Equinox EV FWD will offer 319 miles of range. The all-electric compact crossover recently received revised horsepower and torque ratings following published efficiency ratings and towing capacities.

The 2025 Chevy Equinox EV arrives with an overhauled trim level lineup aimed at simplification. It won’t offer this paint color, yet it gets more horsepower and torque and a range increase.

Here are the 2025 Equinox EV paint colors , the interior colorways, and available wheels.

  1. Every time I take a look at a new Chevrolet Equinox EV. I think of that alien orb sphere, on a movie called Independence Day Resurgence (2016).

    1. That is a better compliment than the frog face of the Tesla Model 3 and Y.

  2. Nice to see GM increasing sales of the NOX EV each quarter.
They can sell so many more if they just litteraly update the DC Fast charging to 200kW bare minimum

Once the Nox, Blazer, Optiq, and Lyriq move to the native NACS Port I pray they will be uppsed to charge at 250kW then they will sell even more.

    1. Average charge rate matters more than peak charge rate. Name an EV that charges at more than 250kW for more than 5-10 minutes. GM’s large Ultium trucks are the only ones I know.

    2. Most GM EV owners will charge overnight on a J1772 EVSE and travel few miles, so they don’t need or care about the NACS or fast charging. Even horses take time to refuel when eating grass!

      1. Whether you like it or not, automakers cannot alienate 38% of the US population that live in apartment complexes. So fast charging is more important than you realize and having the NACS charger is a must if you want to reach a larger demographics.

        1. Well 90-93% of new car buyers are homeowners, so yes they actually can. Personally, I wouldn’t sign for $35-80K+ new car if I’m still renting but I guess everyone has their own priorities…

          1. You know a big portion of those homeowners are condo owners too right? Just sayin. Its not always a developer that owns an apartment.

            Reply
          2. Before I had a kid and needed a house I only owned a condo and Co-op (basically an apartment). The co-op was in a nice area called Riverdale on the Westchester County border of the Bronx (yes. the Bronx has nice and VERY nice areas). And the condo was in a ritzy area of NJ along the hudson river called Edgewater. So just because someone lives in an apartment doesn’t mean they can’t afford a car. Some people want to own a home but don’t want the headache and endless money pit that comes with house ownership and simply prefer apartments.

But those people, especially living in a place outside the metropolitan area, still need a car. There are people in Hoboken that pay millions for an apartment there but they still need a car so they street park them. I could never deal with that type of lifestyle but people do it and even with Teslas.

          3. If you cannot charge at home an electric vehicle is simply not worth the extra cost.

  3. Where are the Toyota ‘s fan boys watching GM ‘s cars succeeding? Or better, the anti – USA brands .

    1. Oh don’t worry. The Tesla fan boys will remind you how their bland appliance sells hundreds of times more.

      1. Yes they will, Tesla has been and continues to be light years ahead of GM in technology…have you seen their incredible drive systems?!

        Reply
        1. I couldn’t care less about their incredible drive systems. To me they are generic EVs like any other and just because they have these drive systems isn’t enough to get me to want one. And before you ask, yes. I drove one. A model Y. And I was far from impressed. And I also drove a Lyriq which I had for a day as a loner. And I would take the Lyriq over the Y 10 times over. The Y to me is simply a car with absolutely ZERO character other than a horn that farts and a karaoke machine, two features that are completely useless for me.

        2. The only way I would ever take a Tesla over any other EV would be if the only other options are from China. At that point I would have to take my families safety into consideration.

        3. What is special about the Tesla motors? They are failing at a totally unacceptable rate in the Cybertruck.

    2. Hardly a fan boy but I just traded my 21 Prime SE for a 25 EQ LT EV with AWD. After 4K discount and another stacked 10k offers/fed tax credit my out the door price including all taxes, license etc. came to $5600.

  4. It was a no brainer. Its a new technology vehicle with alot to offer for the money. Plenty roomy, plenty of useful features and not useless ones like farting horns and caraoke machines. And its priced nearly on par with a comparable ICE vehicle. If I wanted to take the plunge and risk my investments on an EV that would make me feel comfortable to make the change to electric without breaking the bank , the Nox EV would be the one I would be looking at.

  5. Well, I’ll be nICE and say the Equinox EV is by far the best looking Chevrolet EV. That’s the best I can do.

    1. You can do better by buying it.

      1. Ewwww, no. I can only afford one vehicle, so an EV is shirley off the table.

  6. GM has canceled vehicles with sales numbers far greater than that
