Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Among Car And Driver’s 10Best Cars For 2025

The Car and Driver 10Best Cars for 2025 list is out, and two of those 10 have “Blackwing” in their names. One is on the 10Best list for the fourth time, the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. Car and Driver Editor Mike Sutton called the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing “brilliantly tuned, hilariously powerful,” and “a masterpiece of a sport sedan.”

Car and Driver says it’s more than just the impressive specs and test results that put the CT4-V Blackwing on the 10Best list. In C&D’s testing, it sprinted from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds and hit the quarter mile in 12.5 seconds. Impressive, but some of the Cadillac’s rivals can match or beat those numbers. What makes the CT4-V Blackwing special is “its broad range of capability, as well as the finesse and nuance it brings to the everyday task of being exciting and rewarding to drive anytime, anywhere, on any road, at any speed.”

Car and Driver is referring to the Jekyll-and-Hyde quality we love about all of Cadillac’s V-Series models. Put it in Tour mode, and it’s a perfectly pleasant luxury car; the steering is light, and even the exhaust quiets down. However, flip it into Track mode, and the car comes alive as a genuine 4-door sports car ready to scorch the quarter-mile or rip around a track. Few luxury sport sedans can achieve this versatility quite like the CT4-V Blackwing.

An interesting enhancement to the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing for the 2025 model year is the Petit Pataud Special Edition (RPO code ZLZ), an optional Collector Series package that features the exclusive Magnus Metal Frost (paint code GBL) exterior paint color, the Stormhawk Blue carbon fiber package, Royal Blue brake calipers, and appropriate badges and decals.

Pricing for the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing starts at a base MSRP of $63,590. This price applies to the rear-wheel drive configuration with the Tremec six-speed manual transmission, with a price of $2,275 set on substituting the GM 10-speed automatic transmission (RPO code MHU) for the manual.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing still has a single engine choice, namely the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque.

Under the sheet metal, the CT4-V Blackwing continues to ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform. The model is produced at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
