Refreshed with new front and rear fascias, optional 24-inch wheels, a new turbodiesel engine, and major tech upgrades, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe retires several exterior paint colors while adding two new ones: Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Cypress Gray. Here, GM Authority is giving a deep dive look at the Gray hue.
Designated by color code GBD and touch-up paint code WA-229K, Cypress Gray is one of eight 2025 Tahoe colors, which include:
- Black (GBA)
- Dark Ash Metallic (G6M)
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (G1W)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)
- Summit White (GAZ)
- Cypress Gray (GBD – new for 2025)
- Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP – new for 2025)
Cypress Gray is neither a metallic nor a tintcoat paint. It is offered as an extra-charge option priced at an additional $395 if selected. The color is offered only on the Z71 and RST trim levels, meaning that it’s not available for the LS, LT, Premier or High Country trims.
Cypress Gray can be combined with any of the interior colorways offered on the two trims for which it is available, as follows:
Tahoe Z71
- Jet Black
- Gideon / Very Dark Atmosphere
Tahoe RST
- Jet Black / Victory Red
2025 Chevy Tahoe pricing starts at $60,495 for the rear-wheel drive configuration of the base LS trim. This number rises to $81,695 for the range-topping High Country with 4WD. The automaker’s $1,995 destination freight charge is included in these prices. The official online configurator is live.
Ordering for units equipped with the new turbodiesel engine opened on March 3rd, 2025, while the very first orders for units equipped with Super Cruise can be placed on February 17th, 2025.
For propulsion, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe offers three engine choices with updated availability, starting with the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, meanwhile, cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the new-for-2025 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine is rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque, which replaces the LM2 diesel engine offered from the 2021 thru the 2024 model years.
The GM T1 platform continues to underpin the 2025 Tahoe, while production started several months ago at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
