Intended as an eventual indirect replacement for the ICE-powered Cadillac XT4, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq debuts as the entry-level model in the luxury brand’s EV crossover range. In fact, the XT4 is on the chopping block with production permanently ceasing in January 2025.
Now, Natural Resources Canada has released energy consumption, fuel economy equivalent and range figures for the 2025 Cadillac Optiq in the Canadian market. This table shows the details:
Metric | U.S. Conversion | |
---|---|---|
City Energy Consumption | 18.8 kWh/100 km | 30 kWh/100 mi |
Highway Energy Consumption | 22.3 kWh/100 km | 36 kWh/100 mi |
Combined Energy Consumption | 20.4 kWh/100 km | 33 kWh/100 mi |
City Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 2.1 Le/100 km | 112 MPGe |
Highway Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 2.5 Le/100 km | 94 MPGe |
Combined Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 2.3 Le/100 km | 102 MPGe |
Range | 486 km | 302 mi |
Notably, the figures shown for the 2025 Cadillac Optiq include both the original NRCan metrics and a conversion to U.S. measurements. Usually, Natural Resources Canada ratings and those supplied by the EPA in the United States are identical or nearly identical, so this provides a close approximation of U.S. efficiency ratings, too.
Comparing the Optiq to rival subcompact EVs shows it to be in the middle of the pack when ranked by energy efficiency in kWh/100 miles. At 33 kWh, it’s just ahead of the 2024 Tesla Model Y Performance AWD with 32, and just behind the 2025 Polestar 2 Dual Motor with 19-inch wheels. Its 302 miles of range per charge puts it second only to the 310 miles offered by the 2024 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD:
Combined Rating, kWh/100 Miles | Range, Miles | |
---|---|---|
2025 Audi Q4 e-tron | 29 | 288 |
2024 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD | 29 | 310 |
2024 Lexus RZ 450e AWD with 18-inch wheels | 31 | 220 |
2024 Tesla Model Y Performance AWD | 32 | 279 |
2025 Cadillac Optiq AWD | 33 | 302 |
2025 Polestar 2 Dual Motor with 19-inch wheels | 34 | 278 |
2025 Polestar 2 Dual Motor with 20-inch wheels | 35 | 268 |
2024 Lexus RZ 450e AWD with 20-inch wheels | 36 | 196 |
2025 Volvo EX40 Twin Motor AWD | 36 | 260 |
2025 Polestar 2 Dual Motor Performance Pack | 37 | 254 |
2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 4MATIC | 39 | 205 |
2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4MATIC | 39 | 207 |

Mine’s been built and is currently sitting in Texas — can’t wait to see it moving again.
All my dealer hase told me is my order was accepted and possibly late January for delivery. It shouldn't be long before GM starts sending some of the allocations to dealers and reviewers.
