Many of us have watched Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy and wished we could drive Batman’s tank-like tumbler. Now, 10 of us are in luck because a limited run of real cars is being offered for sale based on the beastly Batmobile that wowed moviegoers when Christian Bale’s Batman first drove it in Batman Begins in 2005. Apparently, they couldn’t make a rocket engine work because power comes from GM’s 6.2L V8 LS3, which originally saw duty in the C6 Corvette, Chevy SS, and Chevy Camaro SS.
You can sign up for a reservation through Wayne Enterprises for the privilege of paying $2.99 million for one of the 10 examples being offered to the public. Wayne Enterprises is a real brand, but it’s not quite what it sounds like. It’s a bespoke luxury brand operated by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) and PR firm Relevance International based on the fictional Bruce Wayne’s fictional company. However, its line of products is very real, which includes watches, sunglasses, fragrances, luggage, e-bikes, and a $21,000 lamp shaped like a mushroom.
The Tumbler is built on a bespoke steel tube frame cradling the aforementioned LS3, rated at 525 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque, mated to a 4L85E 4-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The screen-accurate bodywork is made from a mixture of Kevlar, fiberglass, metal panels, and carbon. However, it’s hardly noticeable that so many different materials are used since they’re all finished in black.
Additional features on the Tumbler include a smoke screen delivery system, imitation gun turrets, a simulated jet engine, one-way mirrored glass screens, and a bespoke two-seater interior with an Alcantara headliner. The weight is approximately 5,511 pounds, which is similar to a Chevy Tahoe.
As for the ordering process, it starts with getting on the list for an allocation. From there, you need to be picked as one of the lucky 10 invited to buy the car. Wayne Enterprises is sending invitations “to an exclusive audience of avid car collectors.” If you’re one of the chosen 10, Wayne Enterprises will reach out to you to review the specifications, pricing, and payment details for your car. Then, all you have to do is wait 15 months from the date of deposit, and Alfred will deliver your car to you.
Unfortunately, the Tumbler is not street-legal. That helps maintain its screen accuracy; we’re pretty sure Batman didn’t have a license plate on the Tumbler he drove on Gotham’s rooftops. This GM-powered monster is a $2.99M garage decoration, but one of the coolest ones imaginable.

Why not try for THE BATMAN batmobile as it looks more street legal??
Will it be made in Fort Wayne?
Tractor pull?
Am I the only reader who had to look up what “bespoke” means – obviously a popular word for the writer of this article.
Does it come with a trailer hitch? I need to pull my travel trailer.
LS3 came out in 2008 not 2005?
