As GM Authority exclusively anticipated earlier this year, SAIC-GM has just officially announced the debut of the updated 2025 Cadillac XT6 in China.
General Motors’ main joint venture in the Asian country revealed the first images of the updated 2025 Cadillac XT6 for the domestic Chinese market, while announcing that it has already started taking orders for the new version of Cadillac’s three-row midsize crossover. As such, the 2025 XT6 officially debuts and will be presented to the general public this week at the 2024 Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition (Auto Guangzhou).
Notably, the updated 2025 Cadillac XT6 receives only minimal tweaks while retaining the exact same design introduced more than five years ago on both the exterior and cabin. Changes to the 2025 XT6 are limited to a new blacked-out appearance package, a single six-passenger seating configuration, and a more affordable price point to make it the best value in its class.
The updated 2025 Cadillac XT6’s new exterior styling includes blacked-out trim on all variants, new Carbon Gray multi-spoke alloy wheels, and monochrome Cadillac logos for the first time on the model. By not receiving any exterior design tweaks, the 2025 XT6 remains the most dated utility vehicle in the brand’s product portfolio.
Inside, the updated Cadillac XT6 also retains the same layout, but will now be offered only in three-row, six-seat 2+2+2 configuration. SAIC-GM claims it has upgraded the class-exclusive, second-row executive seats with better upholstery, adjustable aviation headrests, wider armrests, and power adjustments, with available with heating, ventilation, and massaging functions. The infotainment touchscreen is larger as well.
The updated 2025 Cadillac XT6 is now available for reservation on Cadillac China’s website and through its dealer network, and is scheduled to launch on November 15th during the opening ceremonies of 2024 Auto Guangzhou. Units for the local market will continue to be built at the SAIC-GM Cadillac Jinqiao plant in Shanghai and will retain the 48V mild hybrid turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY powertrain that develops 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Full configuration details will be announced during at launch.
Thousands of units either in transit or on the ground.
Plus, no monthly payments for 90 days on midsize crossover.
With the first units arriving in Q1 2025.
Mid-engine performance lines up with high-powered luxury.

If GM could get past its EV obsession, this would have been redone, not very mildly refreshed.
A refresh isn’t going to hide the fact this is a fwd based crossover with a boring v6. Step up and get the 650 hp Vistiq with a luxurious interior and 3.7 seconds to 60 mph.
I guess you’d rather have Cadillac continue down the path off following versus being a leader in the future of automobiles.
Fortunately many people will disagree with you and the Vistiq will have substantially better sales.
I don't need 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. I just need a nice car that drives well. Boring is the wrong description of the V6. How about, it works, is reliable and has plenty of power compared to the competition in the XC90. It's still a nice vehicle.
Wow, such high standards to compete against Volvo. Wait, isn’t that essentially what Buick is for?
I’d prefer that Cadillac build products that they can claim the Standard of the World.
The vehicle you want is merely good enough and doesn’t come close to what luxury manufacturers are building. Accept that the XT6 will be dying and that the Cadillac EVs will get them much closer to reclaiming that title.
Most EV 'buyers' are actually leasing. It will be interesting to see how GM Financial deals with the lease turn-ins in the future, if values continue down their current path. GMAC had the same issue when they had the 'smart buy'. Gas shot up to $4-5/gallon and all the SUVs getting turned in at the end of their term bankrupted the company.
Common, there are other choices to focus on if this doesn't appear to impress you.
Agreed. Everything s for China. What about the US?
I'm surprised to hear that Cadillac hasn't redesigned the XT6 to bring it in line with the redesigned XT5. I guess that means it will be discontinued soon. If so, it's too bad I have a 2024 XT6 Premium Luxury with the Platinum Package and I love it. It's a GREAT car/ SUV.
I want to buy another GMC vehicle, 2 row, but will not until GM puts out a V-6 powered engine; I can't believe drivers who have been driving either a V-8 or V-6 would want to give up that power for a 4 cylinder. I have been putting off looking at Japanese vehicle brands hoping I will see a more powerful engine in 2025.
The proposed V-6 that gm was going to put out and would have nearly rivaled the 5.3 Liter, was said to be too expensive for the consumers choice option and instead; went with the more cost effective option of the 2.7 Liter.
