These Two Chevy Silverado HD Variants Are Turning Very Quickly On Dealer Lots

The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD is the sixth model year for the fourth-generation heavy-duty pickup, bringing with it several important updates and changes. So far, the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD is showing impressive sales strength, with two model variants in particular practically flying off dealer lots. To be more specific, the Silverado HD’s off-roader variants, the Silverado HD Trail Boss and Silverado HD ZR2, are currently turning very quickly.

As it turns out, as of mid-November 2024, the Chevy Silverado HD Trail Boss is turning in just 15 days, while the Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 is turning in just 19 days, reflecting high demand for these two off-road-oriented variants.

Unveiled in January of 2024, the Trail Boss package (RPO code WPK) completes Chevy’s Trail Boss lineup, delivering a rugged off-road package, without stepping up to highly capable (but more expensive) ZR2. The Trail Boss package is available for Silverado HD LT and LTZ trim levels, and includes unique 20-inch black wheels paired with off-road tires, Trail Boss-specific decals, red recovery hooks, and blacked-out bumpers and trim. It requires choosing the Z71 shock and suspension package beforehand.

Pricing for the Silverado HD Trail Boss package starts at $3,965 for the LT trim level and $2,565 for the LTZ trim level, excluding all required packages and options.

Meanwhile, the Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 was introduced with the 2024 model year, and includes numerous off-road enhancements that cater to buyers looking for even more capability in the rough stuff. Highlights include Multimatic DSSV dampers, electronic locking differentials, a Terrain driving mode, and 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.

As a reminder, the Chevy Silverado HD offers two engine options, starting with the standard naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, followed by the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax. All 2025 Silverado HD variants ride on a more-capable version of the GM T1 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada.
