The 2026 Genesis GV70 (and Electrified GV70) gets a mid-cycle refresh in the fifth model year of its first generation. Like the GV80 refresh for 2025, this is a pretty modest facelift for the compact luxury crossover. In GM’s fleet, this Genesis primarily competes with the Cadillac XT5 and Cadillac Lyriq.
“GV70 is our most popular model in North America, and we’ve welcomed over 85,000 customers into the GV70 family in just three short years,” said Claudia Márquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. “The newly redesigned GV70 and Electrified GV70 offer all of the utility and interior refinement of a great SUV without sacrificing the fun-to-drive character that Genesis vehicles are known for.”
The 2026 gets a slight exterior refresh with a design language that Genesis calls “Athletic Elegance.” Indeed, it continues to look both classy and sporty, now with a revised G-Matrix grille with a dual-weave design, multi-lens array two-line headlamps, and two-line taillights more in alignment with the front light signature. It’s a nice makeover that makes an attractive crossover look even better.
The biggest change to the interior is a 27-inch OLED display integrating both a digital gauge cluster and a central infotainment screen. There’s also a new HVAC control setup, a relocated wireless charging pad, and an available Bang & Olufsen 16-speaker premium audio system replacing the old Lexicon system.
Powertrain options remain unchanged in the 2026 Genesis GV70. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.5L I4, making 300 horsepower, and the optional upgrade is a turbo 3.5L V6 pumping out 375 horsepower. The Electrified GV70 has a standard dual-motor setup producing 483 horsepower. Genesis says a new 84 kWh battery will give it better range (the outgoing model was good for 236 miles), but hasn’t specified a range estimate.
Pricing will be announced closer to launch, which will be in the first half of 2025. For reference, the 2025 Genesis GV70 starts at $47,050, and the Electrified GV70 starts at $66,950. Price-wise, that positions the Genesis GV70 and Electrified GV70 slightly above the Cadillac XT5 and Cadillac Lyriq, respectively.

I drove the 3.5Y about 150 miles. It’s a heck of a vehicle, the XT5 really isn’t in the same league. And in about a year they will have a hybrid system paired to the 2.5T further pulling ahead of the XT5
The XT5 and XT4 were too generic unlike Hyundai/Kia…so that is why they suffered when Ms Mary B gave them the blow…
She is not having her own way because of Mr Mark Reuss and Mr Duncan Aldred…otherwise everything would be a mess (which it already is). We will see how it goes. Every manufacturer is terrible at this stage…Mr Akio Toyoda and his scandal, Mr Farley and his QC, Mr Taveres and his EV obsession…the worst being the Gen Z now hired (not everyone, but a few) who likely are obsessed with texting their romantic partners rather than focusing on QC…
It’s funny the brain dead sheep here down voting but can comment to back it up. A true GM/Cadillac fan would recognize the weakness and push for better.
Nicely designed vehicle but with the only choices of black or white interiors, it won’t be on my to purchase list. They actually used the word vanilla in the name of their white trim.
I have owned several XT5’s and have been very satisfied with each of them. If GM discontinues the XT5 and/or refuses to bring the updated Chinese only model to North America , the GV70 will be high on my shopping list.
They probably will, because Ms Mary B DOES NOT CARE. Try a Acura..they excell in that segment…
These comments always are so cringe. GM has heard everyone over the last two years complain about how outdated the XT5 and I can tell you for certain it isn’t coming to the US because those decisions take billions of dollars and several years to plan. Go get your GV70 buddy because no one cares. Cadillac’s sales are soaring and will continue to soar without your XT5 purchase.
