Refreshed 2025 Chevy Colorado Midsize Truck Launches In Peru

General Motors has just introduced the new image and global positioning for its Chevrolet brand in Peru by officially launching the refreshed 2025 Chevy Colorado midsize pickup truck.

The automaker introduced Chevrolet’s new “Manejemos juntos” tagline in Peru with the local launch of the refreshed 2025 Chevy Colorado, which introduces comprehensive design, technology and powertrain improvements to strengthen the brand’s truck legacy. As such, Peru becomes the second country in South America to receive the updated midsize pickup truck following the model’s launch in Chile.

The new tagline translates to “Let’s Drive Together” – identical to the “Together Let’s Drive” credo that serves as Chevy’s motto in the U.S.

“At General Motors, we have been producing the most powerful pickups on the market for over 100 years. We have put all that experience into the New Colorado, a pickup truck designed for those who love challenges and adventure,” said General Manager of GM Peru, Marco Kohatsu. “The 2025 Colorado combines power, safety, connectivity and driving comfort, characteristics that will help meet different types of expectations and needs,” he added.

Unlike the Colorado’s full lineup in Chile, the refreshed 2025 Chevy Colorado is being launched in Peru in two top-of-the-line trims – Z71 and High Country. Both versions exclusively offer the Crew Cab, Short Bed body with the highest level of features, and are configured to navigate all types of terrain thanks to their standard 4×4 all-wheel drive system.

In addition to the aesthetic changes and increased level of technology inside, the 2025 Chevy Colorado’s powertrain was tuned by revising the 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel XLD28 four-cylinder engine to now offer 204 horsepower and 510 Nm (376 pound-feet) of torque. The boosted four is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the refreshed truck offers a smoother and more comfortable ride thanks to improvements in steering, suspension, and damping.

The Chevy Colorado sold in South America is made in Brazil, where it’s marketed as the Chevy S10. Though truck is based on the same general platform as the Chevy Colorado sold in North America, it’s not the same.

Built at the GM São José dos Campos plant in Brazil, the refreshed 2025 Chevy Colorado is now available for sale across Chevrolet’s dealer network in Peru and carries the following starting prices:

  • 2025 Colorado Z71: 163,587 soles (about $42,490 USD at current exchange rates)
  • 2025 Colorado High Country: 178,987 soles ($46,490 USD)

  1. Keep it in Peru. Does not look like a Colorado but more like the small EV Silverado. Next thing it will be a EV. Both vehicles are a run off of the old Avalanche style .Keep converting your vehicles to EV’s and see where your profits go. Not looking good GM.

    1. Really? No mention anywhere of EV’s, why drag that into the conversation? Does NOT look like an Avalanche, it looks like a Colorado crossed with a Montana. They haven’t converted anything to EV.

  2. I remember when the Colorado was revived in the U.S. for the 2015 model year. Several changes were made v. the international versions to butch it up for Americans. I owned a ’15 LT and a ’19 Z71. To this day, I don’t think they manned it up enough, with that laid-back front end (Ranger fell into the same girly-mon trap, until the new, blocky version). The brand new Peru Colorado looks a bit… how do I say it… “dainty”?

Kia Tasman kills this, with its early-50’s retro futuristic “parallel universe” mash-up truck style. Sorry.

  3. Refreshing to see a new vehicle with the classic high-headlight look and not the now-boring low-headlight “Follow Me, Lemmings” look.

    1. With how tall vehicles are getting lower lights are better, they allow light to get shot further down the road and they don’t have to be aimed down as far. Function > aesthetics…
