Jay Leno All Bruised Up After Falling Down 60-Foot Hill: Video

Comedian, TV legend, and world-renown automotive aficionado Jay Leno was recently injured after he took a tumble down a 60-foot hill near Pittsburgh. The fall left the 74-year-old icon battered, with heavy bruising along one side of his body and face, as well as a swollen eye and other injuries. However, Leno says he’s on the mend, and wasted no time getting back to business.

Per an interview with Inside Edition, Jay Leno fell after he decided to take a shortcut between a hotel and a restaurant, opting to skip a more lengthy route along the road in favor of climbing down a hill. Unfortunately, the path led him down a steep incline, and during the descent, he fell, hitting several rocks along the way. In addition to a bruised and swollen face, the fall left Leno with a broken wrist, and even the loss of a fingernail.

Despite his injuries, Leno didn’t let the fall slow him down. Just three hours after the incident, he was reportedly back on stage for a scheduled comedy show, refusing to take even a single day off. The following evening, he performed again in Beverly Hills.

Unfortunately, Jay Leno has been in the news multiple times in recent years as the result of injuries. In November of 2022, he sustained severe burns in a garage fire that required skin grafts and intensive treatment at the Grossman Burn Center. Despite the severity of the burns, Leno’s positive attitude was evident as he expressed gratitude for the recovery process and even performed at a benefit to support the facility that helped him heal.

Then in early 2023, Leno reportedly had an accident while riding a 1940 Indian motorcycle, hitting a wire that was stretched across a parking lot with no flag or indication that it was there.

“You know, after getting burned up, you get that one for free,” Leno said after the motorcycle crash. “After that, you’re Harrison Ford, crashing airplanes. You just want to keep your head down.”

  2. And now the fun really begins! As we age and enter into our mid 70’s, I’m noticing all sorts of new and exciting things starting to enter my life and my wife’s life too (same age, with 54 years of wonderful marriage) and I fully expect Jay Leno to open another chapter in his interresting life as he has already managed to live through some exciting times, what with rolling over and over in a race prepped ‘Cuda, catching fire while playing with one of his steam car’s, riding one his motorcycles directly into a parking lot with a chain crossed enterence damn near decapitating him throwing him right off the bike, and now falling down a 60 hill and all because of a poor judgement call on his part. Oh yeah Jay, you’ve just begun some fun times as you make one bad decision after another. I pray to god that you don’t have any more bad decisions follow you in your life, we all need you “alive and in great shape” and personally speaking you’ve got a long way to go yet in life, so make the best of it, take care of yourself and lets keep those Jay Leno’s Garage features coming, plus all of the amazing work you do for our society, you truly are a living Icon, god bless you Jay!

  7. You’re my car guy hero! Here is hoping for a quick recovery. I left you a small memento in your first (black) Viper when I checked it as a supplier quality director. Maybe you have not located it yet? I now have a (near zero mile – black) Corvette E-Ray Convertible for charity auction. Are you interested? Barrett-Jackson had no room for it.
