The 2025 Chevy Blazer ushers in the third model year following the ICE crossover’s mid-cycle refresh, prolonging the vehicle’s existence in the face of earlier uncertainty about its fate. Now GM Authority is examining its towing capacities in detail.
Before examining the actual towing figures, we need to look at the two engine options on offer for the 2025 Chevy Blazer. First up is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine developing 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It’s standard on the 2LT, 3LT and Premier trim levels. Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, is standard on the RS trim and available on the 3LT and Premier trims. The GM nine-speed automatic transmission handles the cog swaps for both engines, while FWD is standard and AWD is optional for all trims. Axle ratio is 3.47 with the inline-four LSY and 3.49 with the V6 LGX.
With this groundwork of powerplant information laid, check out the towing capacities offered by the 2025 Chevy Blazer and its various trim levels.

As can be seen from the foregoing information, maximum towing capacity is limited to 1,500 pounds for both available 2025 Blazer engines as standard. Adding the Trailering Equipment Package (RPO code V92), offered for both FWD and AWD models, raises towing capacity to 3,250 pounds for vehicles motivated by the LSY engine and 4,500 for the LGX engine.
These towing capacities are unchanged from the 2024 Chevy Blazer. GM recommends that Chevy Blazer drivers carry out a break-in period of 500 miles during which the new crossover is not used for towing, followed by a further 500 miles of low-speed towing (under 50 mph).
The General also suggests that a number of safety and technology features should be disabled while towing, including Park Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Lane Change Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Super Cruise. Further information, tips and requirements can be found in the user manual.
Compared to the 2024 model year, the 2025 Blazer gets changes, including the elimination of three exterior paint colors and the introduction of a new paint, Habanero Orange (color code GAG). Returning to availability is the Rear Park Assist (RPO code UD7) feature. Pricing starts at $36,795 for the FWD 2LT trim and spans up to $47,095 starting MSRP for both the RS and Premier trims with AWD. The online configurator is live for the convenience of prospective buyers.
The 2025 Chevy Blazer crossover is underpinned by the GM C1 platform, which has been the case since the 2019 model year and production is handled exclusively by the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
