Following up on the  mid-cycle refresh debuted with the 2024 model year, the 2025 Buick Envision continues to be the Tri-Shield brand’s compact crossover offering and provides towing capacities similar to recent model years. Here is GM Authority‘s full breakdown of the 2025 Buick Envision‘s towing capability.
Before looking at the details, let’s check out the engine and drivetrain configuration giving the 2025 Buick Envision its hauling power. Once again, the vehicle cradles a single powerplant choice under the hood in the form of the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This is linked to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission for cog swaps.
All-wheel drive continues to be standard on all three trim levels in the U.S., including the Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir, while the crossover’s axle ratio is 3.47.
Now that we have snapshot of the 2025 Buick Envision powertrain, let’s look at the model’s towing capacities:
2025 Buick Envision Towing Capacities
Model Drivetrain Turbo 2.0L I4 LSY Axle Ratio Max Trailer Weight (lbs / kg) Preferred AWD 3.47 1,500 / 680 Sport Touring AWD 3.47 1,500 / 680 Avenir AWD 3.47 1,500 / 680
Notably, all three trim levels have the same towing capability, with a maximum rating of 1,500 pounds (680 kilograms). These ratings are identical to those of the 2024 Envision and the pre-refresh 2023 Envision.
Additional towing recommendations for the 2025 Buick Envision can be found in the crossover’s manual. Among the more important of these, the vehicle shouldn’t be used for towing at all during the first 500 miles of driving, when it should have a towing-free break-in period. Speed should be kept under 50 mph and full-throttle starts avoided during the first 500 miles of towing following this break-in.
Furthermore, GM recommends disabling the following safety equipment, if present, while towing:
- Park Assist
- Reverse Automatic Braking
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Rear Cross Traffic Braking
- Lane Change Alert
- Adaptive Cruise Control
Pricing for the 2025 Envision, as revealed by GM Authority, starts at $37,895 for the Preferred trim and rises to $47,595 for the range-topping Avenir. The model’s destination freight charge, which is set at $1,395, is included in these prices. The official online configurator is currently live and available to try out various builds.
Among a handful of changes introduced for the 2025 model year, the Envision loses the Cinnabar Metallic (color code GEJ) paint color from its palette. As an indirect replacement, it gets Brilliant Red (color code GES), offered as a $495 extra-charge paint option on the Preferred and Sport Touring and a no-charge color on the Avenir.
Under the body panels, the Envision continues to ride on the GM E2 platform. Production is currently taking place at the GM-SAIC Jinqiao Plant in China.

Awesome vehicle, reliable like crazy, quality and beauty, full of useful and fun features…reasonable price as well. This is and always has been a winner and is great for those out there too intelligent or embarrassed to drive a B-M doubledouche. Keep up the good work. Oh, afterthought – Buick could use a fun halo car too.
Should be able to match my 2018 equinox 3,500 lbs limit. This thing can’t even tow my small fishing boat. That’s progress gm.
