Although the Cadillac CT6 sedan was discontinued in the U.S. market following the conclusion of the 2020 model year, the nameplate lives on in China, with GM even offering up a second generation as a Chinese-market exclusive. Nevertheless, stateside Caddy fans may be interested to know more about the U.S.-spec CT6, especially when it comes to production figures and rarity. Now, GM Authority is breaking down the rarest Cadillac CT6 Platinum Blackwing V8 paint colors.
For those readers who may be unaware, the Cadillac CT6 was available in the U.S. market between 2016 and 2020, with GM offering the luxurious four-door with the twin-turbocharged 4.2L V8 LTA gasoline engine between the 2019 and 2020 model years. For just those two model years, the LTA V8, also known as the Cadillac Blackwing engine, could was available under the hoods of the Cadillac CT6-V and Cadillac CT6 4.2TT Platinum. The twin boosted eight was rated at 550 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque under the hood of the CT6-V, and 500 horsepower and 574 pound-feet of torque under the hood of the CT6 Platinum. In both instances, output was routed through the GM 10L90 10-speed automatic transmission.

This article, however, is concerned with the Cadillac CT6 Platinum paint colors when equipped with the LTA Blackwing V8. As stated above, that combination was only available between the 2019 and 2020 model years, so let’s start with 2019.
Looking over the numbers, we find Black Raven (paint code GBA) was the most produced color at 40.5 percent, followed by Crystal White Tricoat (paint code G1W) at 20.2 percent and Manhattan Noir Metallic (paint code GCI) at 12.5 percent. The rarest options for 2019 were Stellar Black Metallic (paint code GB8) at 3.67 percent, Radiant Silver Metallic (paint code GAN) at 1.2 percent, and Bronze Dune Metallic (paint code GMU) at just 0.6 percent, with only a single units recorded in Bronze Dune Metallic.
Moving over to 2020, Crystal White Tricoat was the most popular hue at 35 percent, followed by Stellar Black Metallic (paint code GB8) at 16.2 percent and Manhattan Noir Metallic at 16.2 percent. The least popular options were Shadow Metallic (paint code GJI) at 5.1 percent, Radiant Silver Metallic at 4.3 percent, and Red Horizon Tintcoat (paint code GPJ) at 3.4 percent. No data was recorded for Bronze Dune Metallic for the 2020 model year.

I’m curious about the Stellar Black Metallic and the Manhattan Noir Metallic. Are they both black but the stellar having flakes in it (Black Diamond) and the Manhattan Noir the faded black shade?
