Full-Size Cadillac Coupe Rendering Is Equal Parts Style And Aggression

Cadillac’s current vehicle lineup is dominated by sedans and crossovers, not to mention the iconic Escalade SUV. Nevertheless, the luxury marque’s current portfolio may leave some fans yearning for something long, low, and with only two doors – specifically, a modern Cadillac coupe. Now, a fresh set of renderings serve up exactly that, leaving us wanting even more.

Rendering of a modern Cadillac coupe.

The new full-size Cadillac coupe renderings were recently posted online by Fred Wood, and park the modern two-door elegantly along a coastal backdrop.

The styling is presented in a deep, lustrous metallic purple paint that reflects the surrounding scenery. Up front, Cadillac’s unmistakable emblem sits boldly at the center of a streamlined, blacked-out grille, echoing Caddy’s sportier offerings. The grille shape is angular and aggressive, flanked by narrow, vertically-oriented LED headlights that coincide with the brand’s latest styling language.

The profile of this modern Cadillac coupe is sculpted yet clean, with a long hood and fastback roofline that slopes gracefully towards the rear. In one of the images, a chrome accent strip runs from the A-pillar back to the tail, tracing the coupe’s outline and adding a touch of classic luxury. The large, multi-spoke black wheels fill the wheel wells nicely, highlighting the car’s athletic proportions. The wheels are paired with low-profile tires, suggesting performance capabilities, if asked.

At the rear, the coupe features slim, horizontally-oriented taillights that stretch across the trunk lid, visually widening the vehicle and reinforcing its grounded, substantial appearance. In one of the renderings, the rear bumper integrates subtle aerodynamic elements and a modest lip spoiler, all without overpowering the design’s sophisticated lines.

Cadillac Sollei

Although the new rendering images aren’t an official Cadillac design, they seem to resonate well with the luxury marque’s recent two-door concepts. Earlier this year, Cadillac unveiled the Sollei concept, offered as a two-door convertible variant of the ultra-luxury Celestiq sedan. Not long after, the Opulent Velocity concept was unveiled, this time with butterfly doors and an ultra-futuristic aesthetic.

Former Cadillac President Steve Carlisle has also left room for speculation. When asked by GM Authority in 2020 if Cadillac would never again offer a two-door model, he responded cryptically, saying, “Never is a long time.”

Cadillac Opulent Velocity

If Cadillac were to produce a full-size coupe, it would likely align with the brand’s electrification goals, as seen with the Sollei and Opulent Velocity, both of which feature a battery-driven powertrain.

Considering Cadillac’s recent official concept vehicles hint at a possible future for two-door luxury, the dream of a full-size Cadillac coupe might not be all that far-fetched. But what do you think, dear reader? Could you see a two-door Cadillac like the renderings above hitting the streets? Let us know by posting in the comments below!

  1. I initially thought these were renders of the same car, but after a closer look I see they have significant differences. I like all of the renderings’ sculpting around the tail lights, but the rear side windows and roof line in the first picture makes me think of a Camera or Challenger, and that’s a step down imho for what should be a Cadillac. If I was looking for a Cadillac coupe, I would expect an American take on the Ferrari Roma with better lines on the side profile and front. The fourth image does it with the swept lines on the rear side window and the flaring around the rear wheels.

  7. That’s the 7th generation Camaro! The 2022 model that never was, what a shame, GM was too busy trying to build EV’s for the environmentalists.

  8. Might be able to be built on the Alpha Plus platform like the CT-5, with a bit of extra length to flesh out the styling. The Europeans still make cars like this, and if it’s sufficiently beautiful with a really high quality interior, it could become aspirational, like the European GT’s. Give a choice of V-8 and electric, and it would cover parts of the market currently not served by American makes. Shouldn’t Cadillac offer the luxury of choice? Not everyone wants an SUV.

  9. Bring it on! Cadillac may be the only surviving brand of GM in the next several years, since Chevrolet and Buick aren’t making any real cars anymore. IMHO, GM should have kept Oldsmobile & Pontiac, and should have dropped GMC and Buick. Why have two virtually identical models of trucks, with both GMC & Chevrolet? Buick hasn’t offered anything of real interest since the -87 GNX. GM seems to think EVERYONE wants an SUV or huge, 4-door truck…NOT! The Cadillac coup rendering looks promising whether, gas, electric, hybrid, hydrogen, or whatever, and it would be an ideal successor to the XLR. GM would do much better if they were to bring back some moderately modernized versions of the real cars of the 60s & 70s.

  10. I would be very Interested, in owning one more Cadillac Coupe, full size with a Cadillac V-8 engine that has at least 400 Cubic Inches, with either Gas only, or a Gas hybrid. I haven’t seen a totally acceptable design as yet, but I know the Stylists at Cadillac can make it happen, if given the time and resources.
As for the Interior, their are some gorgeous Interiors, in the current and previous S-Class Mercedes-Benz models, Including my phenomenal 140 Series S500 Sedan, that should Inspire the Stylists in that department also 👍
I’ll keep watching, Thanks much for your Time, Dennis ,
