Between now and January 2nd, 2025, Costco members can get $1,000 off the purchase or lease of 15 different GM models from the Chevy, GMC, and Cadillac brands. The new Holiday Limited-Time Special kicked off November 1st and is only available to eligible Costco members. Notably, the incentive is also available in combination with available manufacturer incentives.
“The models available during this limited-time savings opportunity are not only popular within our program but also in the auto industry,” Costco Auto Program general manager Jay Maxwell said. “The Silverado is the best-selling Chevrolet model in the first half of this year and has been the most-requested Chevrolet model through Costco Auto Program for the past 11.5 years.”
To receive the $1,000 incentive, eligible Costco members must first select an eligible vehicle, register to receive an incentive certificate, and then give the certificate to participating dealers when purchasing or leasing their new vehicle.
In addition to the GM products mentioned above, incentives are also available on select Volvo and Polestar models.
In order to qualify for the new GM Limited-Time Special offer, customers must be current Costco members as of September 30th, 2024. To receive a certificate, register with the Costco Auto program either online or through the retailer’s call center by January 2nd, 2025. The certificate will include a unique promotion code. Additionally, participating members must take in stock delivery by January 2nd, 2025.
Eligible vehicles include the following:
- 2023-2024 Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV
- 2024-2025 Cadillac Lyriq
- 2024-2025 Chevy Blazer EV
- 2024-2025 Chevy Equinox EV
- 2023-2025 Chevy Silverado 1500
- 2024-2025 Chevy Silverado EV
- 2023-2024 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban

- 2023-2025 GMC Sierra 1500
- 2024-2025 GMC Sierra EV
- 2023-2024 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL
“The Cadillac Lyriq was the Cadillac model Costco members requested most, and also topped premium electric midsize SUV requests through our program in the first half of 2024,” Maxwell added. “This lineup includes models that have received high interest from members.”
Costco notes that it does not sell automobiles or negotiate individual transactions. All vehicle sales are subject to availability and pricing prearranged with the participating franchised dealer, and certain vehicles may be excluded from the program.

I really thought Johan de Nysschen knew what he was doing and was putting Cadillac on the path to being a prestige brand again. If only GM hadn’t sacked him. Obviously I don’t think selling Cadillacs at the local Wholesale Club does anything to elevate the brand. It’s the kind of management short-sightedness Johan sought to reign in. The very notion of putting Cadillacs in Costco concurrently with also trying to say they’re capable of competing in the $350,000 bespoke luxury car space is especially maddening.
Among the big problems for Cadillac is the fact that there is nobody within GM’s leadership team that truly understands the luxury market they supposedly seek to be a part of; certainly not Mary Barra or Mark Ruess. Mr. de Nysschen I think did understand the clientele and how to reach them. If he were still there, I like to think Cadillac would be largely back by now. Instead they still struggle for relevance with no clear identity and completely inappropriate marketing schemes like this one.
Costco isn’t selling any vehicles, only providing a 1k coupon to Costco members to use toward the purchase of a vehicle. I just don’t see that as lowering any prestige of any participating brand.
Brilliant cross marketing. I know many people who appreciate the Christmas spirit when buying a car.
