Chevy Tahoe Wins Strategic Vision 2024 Total Quality Award

Consulting and advisory firm Strategic Vision has released its automotive 2024 Total Quality Awards, and GM had a strong performance on the list this year. The winner in the Full-Size Utility category was the best-seller in the segment, the Chevy Tahoe, beating out formidable rivals from Ford, Jeep, and Toyota.

The study noted the industry-wide price increases and noted that they’re prompting new vehicle buyers to ask, “Do I really love this vehicle at the given price? Is the quality of the vehicle even adequate considering expectations and price?”

Those questions, apparently, received positive answers from Tahoe buyers. Every car on this list gets a Total Quality Index (TQI) score, and the Tahoe’s score was 597. That’s around the middle of the pack when compared to the rest of the class leaders on the list. Strategic Vision says that the score is “based on responses from over 77,000 new vehicle buyers during their first 90 days of ownership, combining both emotional and rational evaluations of quality and vehicle performance.:

In other words, new Chevy Tahoe owners are very happy with their full-size three-row SUVs. Other GM vehicles that earned spots on the list include the Buick Envista, the Chevy Corvette Convertible, and the GMC Sierra 1500 full-size pickup, which “impressed customers with its blend of power and versatility.”

This joins an already impressive trophy case for the T1-based, fifth-generation Chevy Tahoe that debuted for the 2021 model year. It won the same award from Strategic Vision in 2022 (the GMC Yukon won in 2023), the 2022 Automotive Loyalty Award from S&P Global Mobility, and the J.D. Power 2022 ALG Residual Value Award.

The excellent Chevy Tahoe gets even better with a 2025 refresh alongside the Chevy Suburban. The 2025 Chevy Tahoe boasts a huge number of updates and changes, from the styling to the cabin to the powertrain lineup. A few of our favorite highlights of the refresh include a standard 17.7-inch infotainment screen, the available Super Cruise hands-free driving system, new wheel designs spanning up to 24 inches in diameter, and the new-for-2025 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

  1. I like the front end look but it’s grown too long for me.

  2. That’s cool if customers actually knew what Strategic Vision was and referenced it for their purchases. Love it or hate it, Consumer Reports is the only thing customers look at. GM needs to focus on getting their reliability numbers up in CR.
